Great catch with the Ellie/Eloise = young Faraday's mother. I probably could have watched that episode a few times without picking up on that one.I caught that name because ABC showed last weeks episode again before the new one last night, but with little pop ups telling important information. The pop bar said that the old woman's name is Eloise Hawkings, which pretty much confirmed in my mind that she's Faraday's mother, whom he named a rat after.
So it was fresh in my mind for the new episode.

I'm pretty sure you can watch past episodes in full on ABC.com. I noticed they have a "full episode player" on the website, but I've never used it.

yeah, you can. But for some reason this season, I'm having major issues with the player. We upgraded the player, but wouldn't you know it I can't access the player since the upgrade.

Oh, gotcha. Those replays with the info pop-ups are money. There is so much stuff going on in that show. I find myself rewinding scenes multiple times on the TiVO while I'm watching every episode.

Dude we finally got a clue to how Widmore is connected to this deal. That was big in my mind.
I thought they revealed that last episode when he and his "Other" buddies attacked Sawyer and watsername in the jungle? Maybe I just assumed, since they called him Charles for no reason.

What's with the Latin all of a sudden?

That's an interesting piece. The year they were in last night on the island was 1954, which was pre-Vatican II. Prior to that ecumenical council, Latin was taught much more commonly since it was the primary language in all Catholic masses. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Charlotte also referred to it as the "language of the enlightened."

I was just going to bring up this thread yesterday. I really don't know how I feel about this season. There have been episodes that I've loved but there has also been a ton of stuff that's just frustrated the hell out of me.

The time travel thing is interesting but can obviously be very confusing. One thing that I don't like is that with the exception of Desmond in the 3rd season the whole idea of traveling through time and changing the past just sort of popped up last season. I still feel like there are so many unanswered questions from seasons 1 & 2 that will barely be resolved by the time the show is completely done because of all the new stuff.
The fact that there are so many characters who are so spread out (by location and time) can be a little annoying because it means we don't hear anything from certain characters for weeks at a time.

This season has caused me to stop trying to come up with theories about the nature of the island and the reason their all there, and that kind of sucks because I think that was one of the biggest draws to the show for the first couple of seasons. I know the writers have said that they knew where the show was going from the beginning, but I really don't believe that. I mean, the first season sort of set it up like Walt and Claire's then unborn baby would be completely intergal to the plot but now they're basically gone. At the same time, Ben was only supposed to be around for a couple of episodes but now he's one of the most important characters.

Sorry for rambling. I still am totally obessed with the show and it seems like none of my friends or coworkers watch it anymore so I hardly get to yap about it.
