I am not sure which is sadder that apparently for the next 2 years 40-50% of the American public will have no say in the direction of the country, even though they went to the polls and voted, or the fact that you apparently think that is a good thing.

The country as a whole choose to change leadership. If you're goint to try to lead don't talk about how you want the stimulus to be 100% tax cut and at least understand basic economics. If you have a rational and reasonable policy agenda we can talk but you have people hell bent to get their own way and scuttlebutt the new administration's agenda at every turn. It takes two to tango and Obama is wearing the pants in the relationship.

The country as a whole didn't choose to change. I didn't vote. Millions of people voted for McCain. My friend voted for Brett Favre. Obama may have won by a comfortable margin but he didn't have a Reagan style blowout. Yeah, you can say that now. Oh we won the election you can just be quiet. That's not what happened when Bush was in office. The Democrats ran their mouths like they had won. Now that the shoes is on the other foot I hope what's left of the Republicans fight the Democrats every step of the way. With any luck they can pull blue dogs like the Dems used to pull moderates.

Just like Bush was elected 4 years ago by the "country as a whole" and the Democrats followed his lead, or the House went Republican by the "country as a whole" with the "Contract with America period" and the Democrats followed their lead.
Whatever, it is the way our system works and I understand that, but please then don't say you are changing anything in DC, all you are doing is the same thing that has gone on for the last 40 years.

It's a free market, if you can find a job out there that pays you more god bless you. But if you want my help in feeding your family, well, we're going to have to cook with my recipe book. Nothing is for free in this world.

With friend's like this who needs foes:

The House GOP still haven't gotten the memo that they don't have to show up to work and shit will still get passed. Isn't this the saddest thing you've ever seen?

They still need two Rep. to vote with the Pres to get anything passed which should not be that hard to do. I hope they the GOP does not sign into this stimulas bill and if its that great why would the Dems want their support. They could just pass the bill and then take full credit for getting this passed. The problem is they question if the stimulas will even work so they want the GOP to sign on so they can take part of the blame for this pork bill which I feel is just a waist of money. Could someone give me one thing in this bill that is worth a dam.

Well, technically they did win.

So did a lof of other Congressmen and Senators. It doesn't matter if they won if they can't get they're agenda off the ground.

The country as a whole DID vote for change whatever change represents to you is a different story. The fact that you didn't vote is your problem, yea. More power to the GOP if they can sway the blue dogs. They're 77 seats down and there are 47 blue dogs which means they need 39 blue dog votes to get their way. Good luck to them because by all accounts the house GOP is irrelevant.

When you have 36 GOP senators (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=111&session=1&vote=00038) who don't believe in government spending (http://washingtonindependent.com/29076/its-all-part-of-my-stimulus-fantasy) as a means of economic recovery and threaten to filibuster the stimulus bill WTF are we going to talk about? They can play their games, if was Obama I would tell them go eat a hogmog and have them filibuster the bill.
