Samari Rolle is going to be released soon. He's on the older side (33, in August), but he's had a very similar career path to Shawn Springs if all we are looking for is a Springs replacement.
How about Chris McAlister?

How about Chris McAlister? On my spreadsheet (about to send Matty the updated version), I have them both rated at 79, but intuitively, I think Rolle is the much better player of the two. I don't know whether or not I'm overvaluing McAlister, or undervaluing Rolle, but they shouldn't have the same rating, so I'll have to fix that somehow.

But CM is three younger right? Two years maybe? My ages are ages as of 9/1/09. I have McAlister at 32 then, and Rolle having just turned 33. So they are within a year of each other in terms of birthdate.
(10 months, to be exact)

10 months in real life equals 28 on a football field. You should know that

All of the following are CBs ages 30-33 who I've given relatively similar ratings to:
Ken Lucas, 30
Samari Rolle, 33
Dre Bly, 32
Chris McAlister, 32
Corey Ivy, 32
Patrick Surtain, 33

Though if I wanted to insure my investment would be on the field for 16 games, I'd just sign the dog.
