Comcast to lose NFL Network?los panda 03-30-2009, 03:10 PM scratch cinemax, i meant starz and encore i'm glad i get the nfl network on my phone. i would cramp my pants if i lost it mredskins 04-30-2009, 11:10 AM So it doesn't look good. Football fans who subscribe to Comcast extra-cost sports package seem likely to lose one of their favorite viewing choices at 11:59 tonight - the 24-hour NFL Network. The two organizations, which have battled publicly and in court, have not reached a new carriage agreement, and the old one expires. Lotus 04-30-2009, 11:27 AM I left Comcast about 5 years ago for Dish Network and have not had any complaints or problems. Best of all, after watching my cable bill go up every few months without an increase in the service I was paying for, it's been great to watch my Dish bill not only stay the same, but occasionally add channels without paying a penny extra. My Dish bill is now cheaper than the cable bill was 5 years ago. If I had stuck with cable, I'd be paying at least $20 more per month right now than my Dish bill. I even get Comcast Sportsnet on Dish, along with MASN, MASN2, Big10, NFL Network, CBS College Sports network, a ton of ESPNs and a few other sports channels. :D I can still watch Redskins Nation every night and watch Kelli Johnson go to Randy Thomas' house for BBQ grilling lessons on Sportsnite. :D Yeah, I really like Dish Network. You can't get Sunday ticket like on DTV but I don't have the big bucks for that, anyway. Dish has the best educational channels, ESPNU, and, as you indicate, they actually add channels for free from time to time. Monkeydad 04-30-2009, 11:39 AM Looks like Comcast and NFLNT can't come to an agreement so Comcast is dropping them. Great. =( I only order it in-season but still I like watching their games. I am slowly thinking of going back to Directv but I need them to place my disk in a diffrent location this time. We will see I truly hate DircTV and their customer service. I've had GREAT service (incl customer service) from DISH NETWORK. I highly recommend them. They have NFL Network and a ton of sports channels, including Comcast Sportsnet for your Redskins coverage. I actually just added a New York station for $1.50/mo so my wife from New York can watch Yankees games while I'm at work. :D I'd never be a Comcast customer. I have to deal with them at my work, they're overpriced and have the worst customer service. edit: Didn't realize this was an old, dug-up topic I already replied to. :D Chief PA 04-30-2009, 12:13 PM I have DTV and have been thinking of going with verizon. Everyone I have spoken to loves verizon Ruhskins 04-30-2009, 12:41 PM I have DTV and have been thinking of going with verizon. Everyone I have spoken to loves verizon I love Verizon FIOS. It costs less than Comcast and you don't have to worry about the weather like you do with DirecTV. RedskinMike 04-30-2009, 03:36 PM That was something that NFL Network made Comcast do. They didn't like the fact that they were giving it away for free. That was all comcast. They are the only ones who charge extra for it. Giantone 04-30-2009, 06:55 PM That was all comcast. They are the only ones who charge extra for it. yup, that's my only bitch with Comcast. They try to tell me the Golf channel is just as good!:nono::censored: tryfuhl 04-30-2009, 07:37 PM We do FTA here, which is basically Dish Network, but with the switch to NAGRA 3 coming, I guess it's a race to get that unencrypted. Sigh.. SmootSmack 05-01-2009, 07:39 AM I think NFLN and Comcast came to some sort of an agreement last night, right? |
