Redskins sign Robert Thomasskinsfan_nn 04-07-2009, 10:10 PM Who the hell is Robert Thomas..? Oh, I think this guy worked with me last week...... SmootSmack 04-07-2009, 10:12 PM Taken just before Ramsey With him, that means we have had five different first round picks from 2002 on our roster (not all simultaneously of course): Haynesworth, Duckett, Rumph, Thomas, Ramsey WaldSkins 04-07-2009, 10:12 PM Thank God we got Robert Thomas, move over Haynesworth. This is the prize of our offseason. Nflnick11 04-07-2009, 10:20 PM ...and we make a thread about this... The Goat 04-07-2009, 10:25 PM I can't believe Duckett was a 1st rounder... Well i tend to have more faith in our defensive coaches maximizing talent than a do the offensive folks. I dunno...maybe this turns out to be another diamond in the rough situation for us. Would be very sweet. Eknox 04-07-2009, 10:28 PM I would still like to see someone aggressive from that side of the line by way of the draft. WE have to take advantage of having Haynesworth in the middle. The Goat 04-07-2009, 10:31 PM A latest mock has us taking Tyson Jackson for LDE: National Football League: NFL Draft 2009 - Tyson Jackson (http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/tyson-jackson?id=71341) My word this kid is big...not a pass-rush specialist though by a long-shot. He's like Daniels "Reloaded" lol... He's a stud but I've read he projects more as a 3-4 DE. skinsfan_nn 04-07-2009, 10:35 PM Taken just before Ramsey With him, that means we have had five different first round picks from 2002 on our roster (not all simultaneously of course): Haynesworth, Duckett, Rumph, Thomas, Ramsey Well we are kinda stuck tryin to hit on 1 outta 5 then it appears.... Come on Fat Al make us PROUD! If I had to guess camp fodder....who knows...... him really...? ;) The Goat 04-07-2009, 10:58 PM He's a stud but I've read he projects more as a 3-4 DE. At 296lbs yeah he's def 3-4 DE material. However, many around here got hot and bothered at the idea of Canty coming in to play LDE...he's right under 300 as well but Canty doesn't rush the passer like Jackson has (in college at least). I will say it'd be nice to have a young stud who acts as a wall on the left said and get collapse the pocket on pass plays...evidently Jackson excels at just mashing his opponent backward and flushing the QB out of the pocket. I guess if A. Smith, Raji, Oher and Rey were all taken and our trade-down scenarios don't really materialize Jackson is a good pick at 13. Probably a very safe pick too.... ...btw a lot of mocks have Oher falling well past 13 now (with us passing on him obviously), i just find this interesting. The "experts" and analysts have evidently found their ? guy of the draft cuz I don't think there's any debate Oher has the talent, i guess it's personal stuff and work ethic at issue here. I'm still game for drafting Oher though...his story is remarkable and you'd really hope w/ Samuels, Jansen mentoring him (and hopefully Buges investing time and effort on him too) Oher would flourish in the capital. |
