joethiesmanfan 04-24-2009, 03:17 PM We trade our 1st, this years third and next years third to the Chiefs for Sanchez.
We trade Campbell to Tampa Bay for next year's third.
Sanchez leads the league in interceptions. Defense ranked in the bottom ten (turnovers translate into poor defensive stats). Zorn fired. A real GM hired. Dallas wins the Super Bowl. Go Danny and Vinny!!!!
Trample the Elderly 04-24-2009, 03:18 PM Peter King is reporting that the Patriots are trying to move up (into the top 10), possibly to land a "surprise" player. Jacksonville declined the Patriots 1st and 2nd round picks (23rd and 47th overall). If the player the Patriots want falls to 13 and we have been unable to trade up for Sanchez, maybe we can get the same deal. The Patriots offer was 300 pts short of the Jags spot based on the old draft value chart, but a close match to the skins pick. So if we're unable to trade for Sanchez, we may have a trade down partner as well.
Also, i'll throw another, less plausible, scenario out there:
The Lions select Stafford with the 1st overall pick and Michael Oher is on the board when we pick at 13, the Lions trade their other 1st and 2nd round pick to us (#20 and #33) for our 13, Fred Davis, and Ladell Betts. With those picks, along with our natural picks, the Skins first three rounds go as follows:
1, #20 (From Detroit) - William Beaty, OT, CONN
2, #33 (From Detroit) - Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech
3, #80 (Natural Pick) - Greg Toler, CB, St. Pauls
5, #150 (Natural Pick)- Antone Smith, RB, Florida State
6, #186 (Natural Pick)- Kaluka Maiava, OLB, USC
7, #243 (Natural Pick)- Edwin Williams, C, Maryland
Sunday evening, Marcus Washington is resigned and Jason Campbell receives a 3 year, 24M extension with 16M garaunteed.
Monday Morning, the Redskins.com Headline Reads "Snyder: Haha! Fooled ya, Suckers!"
You know in your heart of hearts this isn't going to happen. It would be just too good. Besides, I don't think anyone wants Betts or Davis.

Wow, that is great. But again, is that what you want to happen, or what you think will happen?
Monksdown 04-24-2009, 03:21 PM Note to self: Never get married.
Frame it, i can guarantee that is the smartest thing you have ever said.
Slingin Sammy 33 04-24-2009, 03:44 PM 1) Mel's hair will be perfectly styled and several ads for men's hair care and Just for Men will run through the first half of the first round on ESPN.
2) Curry will go to KC, not Tyson Jackson and McShay will get the first "I told you so" in on Mel. This will surely be a tit-for-tat throughout the day and wil get old before the end of the first round.
3) Jets fans will boo no matter who the Jets pick.
4) From 5pm on all of us will be watching, and most of us will be relieved when Sanchez doesn't wind up in DC. We'll either trade down or get Orakpo or Oher.
5) Then the "How do we mend fences with JC" threads start.

The only thing that could make me happier in your scenario would be AQ Shipley in the 3rd and secondary depth in the 7th. Let me also say if this comes true I promise never to argue with you again about JC stuff.
Redskin Jim 04-24-2009, 03:56 PM If those kind of machinations actually took place, i'm going to begin writing a new day time soap for ESPN, starring STINK, of course. I will call it, Draft Day Drama.
Featuring BigHairedAristocrat, a 1700's British Judge, trying to find his way back in time using a telephone booth. Also featuring the star quarterback of the A+ sports film, The Replacements.
I just spit my drink out of my nose! LOL, That is the funniest thing I have read all day.
BigHairedAristocrat 04-24-2009, 04:03 PM Man you are determined to get rid of Davis and Betts, aren't you? lol. Wouldn't we be giving up a lot?
LOL, its nothing personal, but we don't have draft picks and the Browns need a starting TE after trading Winslow and the Lions remaining offensive needs (OT, TE and RB) could all be filled by making that trade with us.
As to whether the price would be too high for us, i dont think so. We need more explosiveness at the RB position and Betts doesnt provide that. Davis was drafted in the mid-second round last year and while he has enormous potential, he hasnt proven anything yet. I'd say our 13, a 30year old running back and Fred Davis is a fairly even trade to pick up the 20 and 33.
BigHairedAristocrat 04-24-2009, 04:04 PM Wow, that is great. But again, is that what you want to happen, or what you think will happen?
Neither, really. I was just having fun with the fact that, after everyone thinks snyder has lost his mind, he goes out and fills the needs that most fans think he should fill.
