Hackett has talent he just needs to stay healthy.

I told you guys I was worried about Kelly and it sounds like the Skins are also. Bringing in all these WR's in case he has another set back.

I guess I don't have a problem with Hacket or Washington its just I really wanted Thomas and Kelly to shine. I was also interested in our 7th round WR Marko Mitchell, it sounded like he had a few good catch's over the weekend and Keith Elio who seemed to have a couple of nice catch's over the weekend also. All in all I guess I was hoping we would start getting younger and taller at that position.

I just hope is that if Malcom Kelly is not 100% on by the time we have to form our 53-man roster, we go ahead and IR him. I think Devin Thomas is going to have a breakout year along side Tana and ARE will move to his natural #3 position. That leaves two roster spots open and atleast one, if not two of those spots need to be solid special teams contributors. We can't allow Kelly to waste a roster spot all year again. If he's not 100% healthy during the preseason, we need to IR him and sign the best two of Hackett, Washington, Shelton, and Mitchell.

The biggest thing I DON'T want is time going away from Kelly and Thomas. Yes, I want to win now, but we HAVE TO LET THEM DEVELOP.

Don't worry their hamstrings will take plenty of time away from their development.

Unbelievable. A week ago everyone whined about how we didn't draft more for the offense.

Now we bring in many bodies to improve the offense and everyone has given Malcolm Kelly up for dead.

The FO just can't win.

Kelly wasn't supposed to participate in this mini camp anyway. Nothing has changed in that regard and bringing in camp bodies is not a signal that they are worried about Kelly. I know it's been a while since we've had any real news but man, people need to chill.

^I'll stay worried until someone can explain his issue better. Have there been any WR's that have the same issue he does; ie, degenreative knee disease, that have gone on to have successfull careers? and if I may ask....whome. I'm not trying to be an idiot just wondering how bad his issue is and can he play. Will he have soreness all the time or swelling? Will he end up sitting out games due to swelling and are we prepared to fill that spot if he's out?

If all these questions are a moot point then fine. Heal up Kelly and bring it so we can have another weapon. If these questions are serious concerns then this preseason is going to be his make or break it season I would guess. If he has to sit out too much I can see the team cutting their losses. Which may be why they are bringing in other WR's not only to try out but in case Kelly can't get his knees healthy enough to be a starter. Either way I'm glad they got some other warm bodies until he heals completely cause they need people to throw to.

Having said all that I guess I was looking for a new Rook to rally behind and it was either going to be Marco Mitchell or Keith Elio or both if they could make the team....now we picked up Washington and Hacket. I guess I would rather have someone who could step in immediatly and be a threat though.

Would it be better to play Kelly and Thomas and take the chance of turning minor injuries into major ones? In May?

Kellen Winslow had microfracture surgery prior to the 2007 season and went on to post 82/1106/5.

Reggie Bush underwent microfracture surgery back in January.

Kelly's procedure wasn't as extensive as they thought it would need to be.

Wide receiver Malcolm Kelly said he plans to be fully cleared to participate in June's organized team activities and was relieved that his latest knee surgery was not as extensive as first thought. Kelly, who had a history of knee issues in college and as a rookie last year, underwent microfracture surgery in February, with doctors having to do less repair work than they'd anticipated.

"They thought they were going to have to microfracture the whole thing," Kelly said. "But when they went in they found it had healed up a lot more than they thought, so they just had to microfracture a little part. And I actually had a little bone that they shaved down a little bit, and that really helped out a lot of the stuff. When they went and did that and finally fixed it instead of just trying to clean it up, like the first time, it helped out a whole lot."

A procedure that would have involved his entire knee would have put him months behind where he is now. "When you have to do the whole knee there's a bigger risk," Kelly said.

Kelly is doing drills on a side field during minicamp, but said he is optimistic that his knee problems are behind him. Kelly's knee routinely swelled up throughout last season and he was unable to practice for more than a few weeks at a time. Kelly said his flexibility is better than ever.

Can anyone answer this? What level of medical talent do top college prospects get. I mean when professional teams look into the medical records are they making an assumption that more can be done for pros than at the college level? Is that a true assumption? I would think so, money wise, and I know Kelly has said several times that he learned a LOT about the muscle and knee structure once he got to Redskins Park.
Just curious about it. Thanks all
