Haynesworth in trouble...again! (not really, thread fail)

Again as in 3 months ago?

Just a general thought here, when posting a new thread there's a big button right next to the thread title that says "check if already posted". Let's start using it, ok? Alrighty then.

I think there needs to be an application that people have to fill out to start a new thread. These would be my questions:

1. Did you check if this topic has been already posted?
2. Have you asked yourself and two other people if the title of your thread makes sense?
3. Are you part of the Cult of Colt?*
4. Do you think Marcus Mason should be our starting RB?*
5. Do you hate Jason Campbell?
6. Do you intend to use the phrase "vet min" in this thread?
7. Are you posting an article written by Mike Florio?*
8. Are you Jason La Canfora?*
9. Will your initial post be more than 500 words?
10. Are you a Redskins fan?
*A "yes" answer in these questions disqualifies you from starting a thread.

I sort of remember Sonny throwing some pretty spirals and Kilmer throwing passes that looked like a wounded duck. Kilmer was one tough QB. He seemed more like a LB than a QB.

Billy was actually drafted as a RB by the Saints if I remember correctly. Sonny was smmoth, Billy was a scrambler, both were out of shape and loved to party.

I was 12. Mom made stew and dad and I got the rare treat to watch as we ate. I remember wearing my Redskins "R" helmet for most of the game and holding onto my football.It was a pretty boring game actually until Mike Bass made the interception of the Yepremian botched pass attempt and ran it back for a touchdown. I almost knocked my tray table over and dad grabbed mom and gave her a huge kiss and turned on the cassette recorder and played "Hail To The Redskins" (played only after touchdowns). I thought for sure that was the spark but it was over and the Dolphins completed a perfect season.
Now for all of you sticklers I know that that Super Bowl was played in 1973 but capped the 1972 season.
That year my main man Larry brown was league MVP and NFL Offensive player of the year. A great team of old guys who were if nothing else entertaining.

I've only been watching football since 87 but i swear half the injuries today are no contact (hamstring, sprain, arm for qb), and sometimes it just seems like the players today are in too good a shape for their own good and injured easily. I noticed this in baseball where having half the team banged up seems normal and a pitcher nowadays barely gets out of the 5th. So long story short... was the level of playing just lower and easier to play hurt or not at fullspeed, or were there just as many of these injuries back then?

There were many injuries back then. Jurgenson, for example, missed most of the '72 season with an Achilles injury.

However, it is also true that NFL players have gotten both bigger and faster than the in the '70's. Back in the day you just could not find folks who were 250 lbs. and ran 4.5 40's or 300 lbs. and ran 5.0. 40's. So, since momentum=mass times velocity, the momentums of today's players are much greater, resulting in the greater possibility of injury.
