So you see a lot of shady guys selling cigarettes and booze in dark alleys?

Somebody will always be selling something in the alley.

mredskins, IMO he's probably selling dime bags. You said he's a grown man living with his folks, so chances are he isn't smart enough to have anything more organized going on than small time stuff. Drug deals made on the corner with 2 second hand shakes aren't exactly big time. But I understand your concern. I think his hands up in the air "what" motion pretty much tips it off. If he wasn't doing anything shady, he wouldn't give a shit who glances in his direction as they're driving by.

You already took a good first step by calling the police. You mentioned how tight knit your community is. I would use this to your advantage. Alert your neighbors. Maybe if the entire neighborhood starts giving this dude the eye he'll knock it off. Or at least take his business elsewhere.

I would flip the situation...now that this vermin knows you're onto him you may just get a good deal on some killer herb...you know, if you promise to not rat him out ;)

The song is dedicated to all the people that lived above the buildings that I was hustlin' in front of that called the police on me when I was just tryin' to make some money to feed my daughter...

djnemo65 says stop the snitching.

shoot first ask questions later.

I keed I keed. As an ex "drug dealer" myself, I'm not sure I'd freak out about it. If the guy was anything dangerous, he'd probably be more careful, and not be peddling small amounts of drugs in a neighborhood. If he's in his twenties, and someone's adult son, the guys probably got nothing else to do but cause problems for you and get high and think of ways to do it.

If you call the cops, they will probably harass him, and even if they do catch him peddling pot or whatever, its not like he's going to disappear.

If you have some balls, and are a fairly confident man, approach him and ask him what he's doing. Do some business of your own. Negotiate with him that if he takes his business off of your street and onto the next one you wont mess with him/call police/shoot him, whatever is best matched to your personality. Just mean what you say. OR offer him a small amount of money to take his business elsewhere. I would have respected that back in the day.

By the time most dealers start worrying about guns and stuff they're beyond street peddling.

:laughing2 Good one. Yeah it's kind of a strange time when it comes to the drug culture. Where I live law enforcement now legally considers the possession and sale of herb as the lowest priority issue...i think this was actually based on a vote and from what i understand the same thing is happening all over the country. My guess is within 10 years it's legal in several states...and those states will be awash in nice tax revenues. But it's always gonna be controversial.

^ I hear where you are coming from but last time I checked drugs don't usually attract the type of people you want hanging around where children play.

Though you did just make me think of something, maybe he is the buyer not the seller? Hmmm... Would you buy multiply times in a day and will drug dealers come to your house? I guess so.

You could trust me around your children.

Behind closed doors is one thing, but drug deals out in the open is something to be concerned about.

Good point. Never understood why people make deals in the open.

So if I decide to have 8 beers and drive home it is my preogative and no one should push their morals on me?

In this situation, your actions would directly endanger others. Using drugs can be safe.
