70Chip 05-14-2009, 08:03 PM Honestly, unless the Democrats call off these threatened hearings and so forth, I think Pelosi is finished. Steny Hoyer is already warming up in the bullpen. The CIA will drip, drip, drip until the Democrats decide to throw her aside. Of course, if all the hearings/truth comission talk subsides, the CIA might consider standing down. However, Leahy and the others are pretty well comitted so they may decide that losing Pelosi is worth the trouble. She was always a weak speaker anyways. Weakness was her greatest strength. Murtha, Obey, Waxman and the other committee chairmen enjoyed being able to have a free run because she was so weak. That won't be enough to save her from this, though.
dmek25 05-14-2009, 11:52 PM why does it always seem that republicans have problems with women in power? you guys hate Pelosi, hated Hilliary. any woman you guys like? i know, old gap tooth her self

What a blanket generalization. Pelosi could be a walrus (male or female) and I think the opinion of many of her would not change (it may improve!). I think for most people, including Republicans, it has nothing to do with her being a woman.
To just throw out the Republicans have problems with women in power is pretty ignorant and insulting.
tryfuhl 05-15-2009, 12:11 AM You know as great as this country is why the hell can we not get decent honest people in Washington?
There's too much personal benefit from the job.

I hate to be a turd, but female irrationality from having their decisions oft dictated by emotion, isn't exactly an efficient model of power. Of course there are exceptions that wear pant suits, but I guess someone had to say it. It isn't meant as sexism; I'm sure we've all had good female bosses and leaders but just as many if not more where you just palm your face as well.

I certainly don't share your opinion here, but judging by what you're saying I guess more people think Jason Campbell should act like a woman?

Congrats on being a turd. A giant one at that.

I think term limits in Congress would help. It'll never happen, but it would certainly help.
Missin21 05-15-2009, 12:52 AM They are all...ALL...crooked as the letter "S". Not one of these politicians can be trusted anymore. There are far too many people & ideas to try to please so they revert to simply trying to please themselves & their own selfish agendas, regardless of what those agendas are. I cannot imagine anyone in today's age being surprised by the fact that someone in our government lied to us.
What I'm surprised about is when someone in ANY area of government actually takes accountability for his/her actions & tells the truth. And not their version of the truth, but the actual truth. Now, that shocks the daylights out of me. Mainly because it never really happens.

I tell ya what, I would rather have a female boss over some of the male bosses I have had any day of the week & twice on Sunday. I have had, for the most part, very good female bosses, but all the men seem to want to have penis measuring contests with every other male they come in contact with. "I'm the boss, get it? Nothing you say matters!" Never really had that problem with a woman.
That being said, I hate Hillary, but that really has little to do with her being a woman. I think she is so far up her own ass that she would be a detriment to this country because of her agendas. Her being a woman is subsequent.
