For what ever reason, it was/is not cool at all to say something like that. Maybe he was feeling left out since Gibbs came back, I mean look at Byner he's our RB coach, and we had some old skins at training camp, and Riggs seems to want attention or he dam well shouldn't have said something like that.

No way should anyone question whether or not Joe's heart is in it!!! I think he sat back for the last 11 years and saw how awful the Skins were and just couldn't stand it anymore. He wants the Skins back where they were when he was here before, at the top!!!
Riggo is definitely entitled to his opinion (he's just wrong).
I think we have one of the best coaching staffs in the league and all their hearts are on creating a winning Redskin team!!!!!

On the local show here with George Michael, sonny, wilbon and riggins he said that he meant that he just looked tired and didnt look the same as when he played because of his health. Not that he wasnt committed to the Skins.

thats backtracking, he specificly said "i don't think he's in it, blah blah blah split attention, blah blah blah"
maybe he just realized he was being an idiot and didnt want micheal to make him look even more stupid...

I love Riggo the player, but to me, Riggins the "personality" comes across as an ass. He says whatever he can to draw attention to himself. Yeah, he did it as a player too, but the playing off-set it. Now, that's all there is.
Of course Gibbs appears different now, he's older....is anyone the same person they were 12 years ago??? Exactly how often has Riggins talked to Gibbs in the past 12, or really 19-20 years? Seems like Riggins is feeling left out because he wasn't somehow made involved in the new regime, so he has to trash Gibbs....hmmm....maybe that's why he wasn't made a part of it....

Since everyone here has immediately jumped on John Riggins for his comments that were less than honorific to St. Joe Gibbs. let me ask:
Are you sure that it wasn't Riggo busting his ass that allowed Joe Gibbs to have teams win some Super Bowls?
John Riggins is in the Hall of Fame. I am having a lot of difficulty thinking of any player in there who is there because of who coached him...
Having said all of the above, Joe Gibbs looks just fine on the sidelines!
