I really like the article. This guy captures many of the emotions we all feel...

the only thing i disagree with is his assesment that the replay official (for the redskins) cost us the game. in gibbs press conference he said the official only said it was a reviewable play and that he did not have a view of the play. also in the first two games (the first especially) everybody was complaining that gibbs was not taking a chance on replays that could be game turners and now that he is were complaining that he did. we cant have it both ways. personally i would rather take a chance at wasting a challenge and a timeout than find out later that it was not a touchdown and we didnt want to take that chance.

oh and to add one more thing to my previous post im sure if the officials called timeout and gave gibbs 10 minutes to look at six different angles im sure he would not have challenged that but unfortunately that is not the case you only have a matter of seconds and sometimes you have to roll the dice

If we have hired a former replay official to determine when to challenge then that guy sucks. It's just another nuance that Gibbs will have to adjust to. As for clock management, Gibbs is going to have to speed things up. We continually got up to the line with under 10 seconds on the play clock. That will get corrected, I think this offense will really hit its stride just before the bye week.
Good article. But most of the games we play against Dallas we outplay them. For good reason, we've been better than them, but they get big plays when they need them. If we keep plugging away, they'll come for us too and once we start getting big plays then we'll start winning these games.
Yeah Gibbs said he challenged the Glenn TD, it wasn't from Hill upstairs. Gibbs also seems pretty content with that decision.

The host of Gibbs' interview on 980 had an interesting idea about TD plays. He said to buy some extra time between the TD play and the extra point (the point in which a review cannot be made), just make some guys on the defense get a penalty. That way you don't have to burn a timeout and its only a 5 yard penalty. This will buy enough time to allow the guys upstairs to get a better look at the play. I thought it was an interesting idea.

Gibbs also successfully challenged the supposed cowboy INT in the first quarter, so it wasn't all bad. The killer was burning the two TOs because we couldn't get into the correct formations. That has to stop.

That should stop this week as Gibbs is going to trim things down to get plays in faster.

If you look at that replay you will see the WR right hand (fingers and thum) move. thats why I think Gibbs made the call. Visual edvidance wasn't there to turn the call or not enuff of it, but if Gibbs wouldn't of challaged that I bet we would have been complaning about that?
