The first down cut screen is really getting annoying. It pops up way too often.

That scene along with the goaline cut screen.

You know what's funny, I have played Madden so much that I know that if the firstdown cut screen is from the point of view which is LEFT of the chain gang, it is a first down. If it is from the RIGHT it is just short. Basically there are two firstdown cut screens, and one is indicative of a first down and the other indicated you are short.

Check it out next time you guys play. lol.

Yup, took about 2-3 times of each before I figured that out. Plus it's usually pretty obvious before they even go to the cut screen. Sometimes you'll have it be a good yard or so and they still go to that, ugh it's so annoying. Wish you could skip it.

Another thing I wish you could skip is all the half time stuff.

They need a speed mode, where it cuts out all of the cutscenes and halftime crap. Also, what length quarters does everyone else play? I usually stick with the default 5 but in the past, i've gone to 6 in order to get the stats to match up more correctly.

I generally play 6 or 7 minute quarters.

anyone make it to the second year yet? i have huge roster salary cap problems. luckily i signed JC to a modest 3 yr 10 mil K right before the 09 season.

to make the cap in 2010 i had to resign a ton of players (AH wasnt willing, actually wanted a ton more money), cut as much depth as possible then sign the lowest asking salary price of FAs to fill the required roster spots.

kinda sucks to have to gut your roster of all the quality depth. luckily i didnt need to sign any top 10 draftees, i dont even want to know what they are askin.

Yupp I got to my second year. My friends and I did a franchise year, in one day lol. We each took a team in the NFC EAST. They got a bunch of decent players and were F'ed in the cap the next year. I took a more balanced approach and i was still kinda f'ed.

I basically had to do the same things.

1. Resign some players to longer, cap relieving contracts. (If it don't help the cap don't do it)

2. Take out the trash and cut every depth position player not worth the money you are paying them.

3. Re build your depth with low budget, but quality free agents.

4. Get what you really want in the draft.

I began my cap saving moves in my first season though. I traded away CP for a 1st rounder and cut ARE. It hurt a little the following offseason, but I got my salary cap back under control by doing the things I mentioned above. Next offseason I might have to extend some contracts again for cap relief, but eventually I will free myself of this cycle.

Wow you guys have a lot of time on your hands. I just don't have that kind of time to devote to the game, back in the day, maybe but still there were other things I wanted to do.
