Beer tastes GOOD

That said yeah the goal is usually to obtain a buzz to a varying degree depending on the mission objective of the evening.

Just glad I'm not alone. I definitely enjoy the flavor, but when I'm drinking, I want to feel something or else I'm not going to do it at all.

Maybe it's because I'm trying to lose some weight and when I have a soda it's 0 calories, versus having two "social" beers which total around 200-250 calories and then I have nothing to show for it.

I'm the opposite, I don't like getting drunk anymore. Once I had kids I realized I couldn't afford to deal with any kind of hangover, because they were going to be their energetic selves no matter what.

I drink it entirely for taste now and avoid having more than 3 to prevent myself from getting any sort of headache the next day.

Yeah, I stop at three now as well...usually. Kids and hangover has got to be the least sought after weekend combination.

I will take this opportunity to tout a nlager I had at Outback steakhouse called James Boag's premium lager. (http://www.boags.com.au/#/brands/) Damn fine stuff! Our local Kroger grocery store had it for a limited time.

I might actually let that stuff touch my tongue if it were coming from a green and gold can!
