Hell, if any of our offensive Starters go down we are screwed. We have zero depth. The only place that I am confident on the offensive side of the ball is with JC and TC. TC has taken us to the playoffs before.
Top 3 Players the Redskins Cannot Afford to Lose If We Want To Make A Playoff RunKLHJ2 08-26-2009, 05:31 PM Hell, if any of our offensive Starters go down we are screwed. We have zero depth. Though I'm tempted to throw in Heyer for Campbell once he establishes himself as a quality RT. CRedskinsRule 08-26-2009, 06:01 PM Hell, if any of our offensive Starters go down we are screwed. You ever wonder how 2 people can look at the same team and see complete opposites. It really amazes me. You say we have no depth; I say the only position we truly would be hurt at is LT. I imagine the truth lies somewhere in between. Name any position, and we have a player who has a) the potential to step up, and b) in most cases has at some point in the last season. Are some thinner, meaning we would see some drop off if Rodgers went out, and the scheme was shifted to account for that, yes, would it completely doom us; I just don't think so. But if we lose Rodgers and Hall, then does that mean we have no depth? I don't think so. If we lose Samuels there is no scheme shift, no substitute player who would step right in and we continue on. Our line would be incredibly weaker. So we can't afford to lose him. every other position, either by true depth or scheme depth, I think we are a very solid team. Gmanc711 08-26-2009, 08:24 PM Samuels is far and away #1 in my book, which is scary since they're already talking about his knee troubles. Jason Campbell. I'm sorry, people can bash him all they want, but he is far and away the best quarterback on this team right now. Albert Haynesworth. I have a feeling he'll end up missing a game or two (because he seems to every year), but I think this is the guy who will take this team from a good defense yardage wise, to a game changing defense... I choose not to put Portis in there, because I think Betts as a starter is pretty good (excpet for the fumbles at the worst times), but Betts as the backup I'm not real high on. Paintrain 08-26-2009, 08:58 PM Samuels, Portis, Landry 53Fan 08-27-2009, 12:06 AM Samuels-Moss-Haynesworth We need turnovers and pressure on the QB which we didn't have last year. AH gives us the best chance at those. Monkeydad 08-27-2009, 10:31 AM C, Samuels D. Dockery R. Thomas (in no particular order) Offensive line health is the key to the season. Betts, although a fumble-a-saurus, has filled in decently before and was a 1,000-yard back. The line was killing opponents that year. We have a lot of WR depth to compensate for a Portis loss. Portis is one of the best backs in the NFL and my favorite current player, but if we lose the O-line, there goes our offense entirely...see last year for proof. hail_2_da_skins 08-27-2009, 10:45 AM 1. Clinton Portis - Right now he is Mr. Redskin. The Redskins are as productive as Portis. 2. Chris Samuels - He is the Redskins best offensive lineman. Without him, the protection would fall apart and the running game would disappear. 3. London Fletcher - I picked Fletcher only because he is the quarterback of the defense. The defense is the strength of this team and they need his leadership. I'm looking for the defense to dominate in 2010 and lead the Skins into the playoffs. budw38 08-27-2009, 12:24 PM Samuels , either Hall/Rogers . As CRedskinsrules pointed out we have a number of guys who can/have played well . If AH missed a few games , we have CG/Monty who have both started . Any O-Line injuries could kill us , lets face it , most teams are screwed if ...... they lose ,,, QB , RB , best pass rusher or top cover corner . Lets hope we have the LEAST injuries this year , and ELI and ROMO bite the dust under heavy pressure from our D . GMScud 08-27-2009, 12:53 PM 1) Jason Campbell. Todd Collins is a statue with a cupcake arm, and Colt and Chase are barely NFL players right now, battling each other to avoid the practice squad. 2) Santana Moss. He goes down, and the next three guys on the depth chart are all #3s at this point. He's our most explosive offensive player and it's not even close. He's the only guy we have on offense who is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. 3) Chris Samuels. I feel like our O-line is super fragile right now, but he's the best player by far, and he watches Campbell's backside. I wanted to pick Landry or Fletcher, but I feel like we're pretty stacked defensively, and really lacking offensively. |
