There's a reason Chase wasnt drafted, he just didnt have the size (he is less than 6ft tall) and the arm strength to make it in the NFL. He was worth signing as a UFA to make sure something wasnt being missed.

Sean Peyton saw something there I guess. 12thMan 09-06-2009, 06:51 PM Well Drew Brees isn't that much bigger than Chase. Perhaps Peyton figured if Brees could make it big, Chase deserves a shot. skinsfan_nn 09-06-2009, 06:59 PM JLC has the skinny.....yea right. Damn I'm glad that guy is gone. To bad he couldn't have landed a job with the NHL or anything else besides football! Redskins lose trio of players to other teams Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 6, 2009 6:12 PM ET Chase Daniel didn't make the Redskins roster, but he may have landed somewhere better for his career potential. The Saints signed Daniel Sunday to their practice squad, according NFL's Jason La Canfora. With Joey Harrington off the roster, Daniel will learn at the feet of three outstanding quarterback teachers: Saints coach Sean Payton, Drew Brees, and Mark Brunell. Reports surfaced yesterday Daniel wouldn't be back with Washington, but La Canfora says that wasn't their choice. Redskins coach reportedly Jim Zorn told Daniel he wanted him. La Canfora also points out that the Redskins were hoping to sign linebacker Cody Glenn to their practice squad, but the Colts claimed him on waivers. The Eagles also claimed Redskins defensive tackle Antonio Dixon off waivers. Maybe Washington's depth wasn't so bad after all. While we're at it, let's roll out the rest of the Saints practice squad that will be joining Daniel: wide receiver Adrian Arrington, guard Tim Duckworth, cornerback Danny Gorrer, running back P.J. Hill, tackle Jermey Parnell, defensive DeMorio Pressley, and wide receiver Matt Simon. To make room for Glenn, the Colts waived safety Matt Giordano. And here goes Indy's eight man practice squad: tight end Colin Cloherty, wide receivers Sam Giguere, John Matthews and Taj Smith, defensive lineman John Gill, running back Mike Hart and guard Jaimie Thomas. A10sROCK 09-06-2009, 07:53 PM The #3 QB position is a project player. When was the last time we had a #4 QB who had a 115 QB rating? And we just let him go. Incredible.' In his place we have a fifth season QB who has consistently been a 75 QB rating player. Last year we had the 24th ranked offense. Collins is 38. He's played less than a dozen games in as many years. Colt went downhill this PS and had a 49 rating. 1TD/3 INT We just hired Woodson - also a second year QB with a 38 rating! Chase goes to a team that wants him; he'll be mentored under Brees and Brunell. He was picked up in less than a day. Good for him, bad for us unless you believe JC is the franchise QB for the next 5 or 6 years; he'll never be hurt. CRedskinsRule 09-06-2009, 08:00 PM We are doomed. No Chase, No Colt. I am calling it right now 1-15. We can't do any better. EVER. Stupid Front Office, Stupid Zorn. STUPID A10sROCK 09-06-2009, 08:13 PM We are doomed. No Chase, No Colt. I am calling it right now 1-15. But tell me that Wynn, M. Williams, Colt or Collins will be here next year. Not! We kept the teachers pets on the team. The best teams in the NFL keep players based on talent - not because they are the fan favorites or coaches old buddies. That's why we'll be fighting to stay out of the bottom of the NFC Beast. hope I'm wrong! Beemnseven 09-06-2009, 09:19 PM Can someone tell me what the point of the practice squad is when any team can take the players you put there? I think saying that the team kept fan favories and teacher's pets is shallow. |
