does anyone have any valid reasoning as to why betts and rock are still on the team. yeah betts had a good 6 games a few years ago and rock can return kicks to the 25, but what will they bring to the table THIS YEAR?

GTripp0012 09-05-2009, 06:24 PM Ryan Boschetti made the Raiders. DFI 09-05-2009, 06:25 PM betts needs to be gone. I can see rock a bit cause he is a special teams leader but some of those young wr's did a good job returning kicks in preseason Lotus 09-05-2009, 06:25 PM Am i the only one who has seen improvement from Justin Tryon? No. He's no world beater but he is better than last year and better than the Balt game this year. 12thMan 09-05-2009, 06:26 PM Lots of back-up Qbs out there right now. Joey Harrington, first round pick, among them. The move to cut Chase and IR Colt makes sense now. stu_nna 09-05-2009, 06:27 PM No. He's no world beater but he is better than last year and better than the Balt game this year. Yeah ive noticed the same thing. He made some plays with the ball in the air, and has made enough improvements to warrant keeping him IMO. Now Westbrook... Rock returns kicks to the 30+ and he tackles very well on punt/ kick coverage. My guess is he will do all that again this year. Betts is a good back up to Portis. My guess is he will continue to do that this year too. Ohh and Betts should be getting more carries this year as our 3rd down back. diehard 09-05-2009, 06:33 PM how does bridges get cut, but batiste doesn't...how does both westbrook and tryon make this team. how does dorsey and/or alridge not make this team? Batiste plays G only. Larry Michael is Satan 09-05-2009, 06:34 PM Marcus Mason runs like he knows the playbook very well. He should, since he's been on the PS. I am really happy for him. mlmdub130 09-05-2009, 06:34 PM Rock returns kicks to the 30+ and he tackles very well on punt/ kick coverage. My guess is he will do all that again this year. Is that somthing you look forward to? when weast the last time rock crossed the 50, i'm not saying he isen't a decent returner but to keep five back just to have him a special teams is a strech. and as far as betts on third down, thats the last thing i wanna see, remeber betts not being sable to get in in the endzone from the 1 last year and getting stuffed from the two in preseason this year. oh and have you ever seen him pass block? We should have portis followed by mason/aldrige and have doersey on special teams. All we have is the same mediocre o from last year. hopefully kelly and mitchell will step up |
