at the risk of sounding like a broken record I am enthused about most everything.....as long as our O Line stays healthy

That's key. We've changed some blocking schemes this year and should be better against the blitz. If our o-line guys can stay healthy, Samuels most importantly, the skies the limit. Call me homer or whatever, I believe this team is capable of doing some very good things.

Our WR corp might look good, but don't you think we should wait until maybe midseason or later to determine if we have good WR corp?

Sure, Kelly looks like he's going to be great WR but once again, it all depends on his knees.. Thomas, he obviously has the talents but "lack of focus" appears to be the problem, which was something he should have fixed a while ago.. During the off season, it looked like he finally got but then until the preseason, he fell behind Kelly.. This does not sound good, at all.. But once again, I will wait until later late in the season to determine..

However Mitchell might be different story; he looks like he's going to be a gem, if he continues to flourish then you can talk about him all you want..

Gotta admit though we do look good on paper. If only paper could play. Sunday is the beginning of seventeen grueling weeks that will tell us all we need to know. I'll wait for mid-season form.

Man I wish people would let that go. He's been thru the toughest part of what his knee will have to endure on a weekly basis, two a days. Unless he suffers a knee INJURY, which you can't prevent, quit bringing it up every time his name is part of a discussion. [/rant]

Back to the OT, I've felt since OTA's that we've got the best receiving group in the division. Mitchell only added to that. I truly hope Zorn becomes Andy Reid 2.0 by using the pass to set up the run. If that's the case, that takes pressure off of the OL by not putting them in obvious passing or predictable running situations.

I agree Pain. Passing will keep the "D" from crowding the line and that will only help the run to be even better. It's how the WCO works. It's looks like we finally have what it takes to get this offense off the ground.

Our WR corps has been so pathetic the last few years Marko Mitchell alone makes us better and gives me hope. The fact that MK has made enough progress that Zorn has made him #2 and JC is constantly singing his praises is the best news I've heard on the offensive side of the ball in years. To say I'm optimistic would be a huge understatement.

What are you talking about? We had the great Taylor Jacobs!

Well yea, I guess u re right.. After all, he had only one injury.. JC loves him, it looks like.. It might turn out well.. But I decide not to try to be too excited about stuff until throughout the season, I learned my lesson.. Dude, I tend to be stressed out on sundays!

That is why I am a skeptic til I see results on the field anymore. I forget the thread I posted on last night, but I said we have looked like the superior team against most of our divisional rivals or at least we were evenly gunned with them only to be on the losing end of the stick at the final gun for the past several seasons. We should have at least had 2-3 seasons of sweeping the Boys and Gmen since Gibbs came back, just going by our roster. I think it is great we might have actually assembled a great WR Corp that will be a big threat, but we can't forget our aged O line. Also I still am concerned with our secondary and the depth there. Actually depth all around might be a problem. I am very excited about the Giants game. If we beat them convincingly, it will set the tone for the whole season. IF we lose it won't mean much, but it might bring us back to earth a bit with regards to our expectations. Thing is with this revolving carousel of new coaches/players in the Snyder era, the fans have had many reasons to be excited, only to witness mediocrity in the end.

I think if we can be consistent and make some plays on offense we can go as far as winning the NFC East. I say this because of some problems I see in other teams beside ours. Two major factors that made the NFC Beast so intriguing was the fact that we had two major WR superstars. T.O. and Plax. Now they are gone. Who are the big play receivers left in our division?

Redskins: Moss (hopefully the younger WRs step up).

Cowboys: Williams has yet to prove himself and he is not a rookie anymore by far.

Philly: Fraction Jackson is only in his second year and Macklin might develop into a decent receiver along with Kevin Curtis.

Giants: Nicks May be the answer for Plax. But that's a tall order to fill. Literally.

IF just two of these players make some plays this year we will be fine.

Thomas, Kelly, Mitchell, Fred Davis

We will easily be ranked high in the NFC East.

Dallas has a running game. But receiving corp is suspect. Defense is solid but soft in the secondary.

Giants have a running game. But receiving corp is suspect. Defense is solid but soft in the secondary.

Philly has versatile backs and speedy receivers. If Vick is utilized appropriately they will be extremely dynamic on offense. Espeically if Macklin comes to play this year. Defense. Suspect. Brian Dawkins/JJ gone.

Skins have a running game. Receiving corps is upgraded. Outsiders may say its suspect. Defense is solid LB experiments will have to be factored in as well as O-Line play on offense.

I think our QB/WR play could be the difference between us being 3-4 or 1-2 in our division.
