The awful red zone playcalling overshadowed the vast improvement the team made on third downs these last two weeks.
Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs DownGTripp0012 09-20-2009, 06:27 PM The awful red zone playcalling overshadowed the vast improvement the team made on third downs these last two weeks. GTripp0012 09-20-2009, 06:28 PM Small thumbs down to Carlos Rogers. He struggles with very few receivers, but those big, physical guys in the Plaxico mold (such as Laurent Robinson) always seem to get the best of him. GTripp0012 09-20-2009, 06:45 PM 7/15 today for 47% very goodKeep converting like that, and we'll be in the red zone a lot more. Part of me wants to give Zorn a pass for taking the "we're going to run the ball down their throats when we smell blood" philosophy, but my god, after the second drive in a row where the Rams beat our OL and win at the LOS, you know, maybe don't be so hard-headed? 12thMan 09-20-2009, 06:55 PM You guys covered the thumbs down. Thumbs up: Offensive line protection Thumbs up: Stephon Heyer. I haven't heard much from his side, which is good as far as I'm concerned. Thumbs up: When was the last time Swish made 3 FGs? Thumbs up: Malcolm Kelly. Starting to earn his keeps. Thumbs up: JC running the ball. More dicisive when he's had running room. Thumbs up: Cornelius Griffin. SmootSmack 09-20-2009, 06:58 PM I liked that Zorn used almost all our offensive weapons, just not necessarily how and when he used them GTripp0012 09-20-2009, 06:59 PM I liked that Zorn used almost all our offensive weapons, just not necessarily how and when he used themHe runs a lot of 2 TE stuff, which is good, but when he tries to get the ball to Davis, it's almost like saying "hey, we should probably give the ball to Fred Davis here". And then running something more designed to get the ball to Fred Davis than to actually move the ball forward. horse 09-20-2009, 07:03 PM 4 redzone drives inside the 10, Shoulda been 5 without Tana's fumble and we come away with 9 points thank god we played the rams THUMBS DOWN! 12thMan 09-20-2009, 07:05 PM 4 redzone drives inside the 10, Shoulda been 5 without Tana's fumble and we come away with 9 points thank god we played the rams THUMBS DOWN! Tanna's fumble, the fluke roughing the passer call, and the two dropped tds were just deadly. |
