Doughty to start over Horton

The answer: No. But, he is playing better than Horton. That's a start. Playing favorties doesn't make winners. It's called accountability. Perhaps we should also be starting Marko Mitchell and hold Thomas and kelly accountable too.

I agree. Start who is playing the best right now. Horton will still play alot. I'm expecting more blitzing w/Doughty starting. He has played very well and looks like the best blitz option we have right now. He has performed well and executes the plays correctly. He's solid.

I totally agree. He rarely is a position to make a play in this scheme. I remember when we played Seattle in the playoffs and he had 2 INTS adn was playing lights out. I was like whoa. He hasn't been the same yet. I think Blache is mainly to blame. Seems like ever since he got trucked by Jacobs he hasn't been the same either.

That's truly where it all seems to stem from. After that game, Landry got NOTICABLY more tattoos and piercings and started playing like shit. I think the fact that he got run over hurt his pride, which he showed by tats and piercings. Instead of making big hits and going for the ball, it seems to wants to make a highlight reel nailing somebody so bad it's screwing up his play.

I'm thinking they'll probably put Horton in for most coverage plays. Try to keep doughty in on plays like blitzes, etc. For the run stop basically.

I agree, but I think that Horton has a nose for the ball, in almost every turnover he is there.

Reed has always been cut from the classic Skins mold -- unheralded, hard working guy who isn't spectacular but quietly gives it 110% and gets the job done. Plus, given his personal struggles with his kid, how can you not root for the guy?

I've been rooting for the dude since he got here. He's probably not "the answer" but I don't see how solid, workmanlike commitment to fundamentals can be bad for a team in dire need of cohesion and performance.

He definitely deserves the starting job. Ironically I think he also might make Landry better as Landry has played his best football playing with Doughty.

doughty did good today and horton played well too. hortons too good to be on the bench...my solution: why don't we play a 4-2-5 Defense with Orakpo Griffin Haynesworth and Carter/Jarmon on the DL Rocky and London at LB and Hall Rogers Doughty Horton and Landry in the Secondary. And we could have horton play like a polamalu and move him around all over the field, like he could line up next to the LB's or stay back and roam in the secondary or act as a blitzer next to the DL.
