^Yeah dont think their that bad (except fo Smoot) and pretty sure Carlos isnt coming back next year. So expect it to get worst next year because there isnt crap for CBs free agents next year and if we cant afford to waste another pick on a corner for awhile. In fact our entire draft next year should be just offense picks.

What about Chris McAlister? He certainly is available on the FA list.

I would give a look at McAlister for a nickle corner, but not a starter. Carlos may have hands of steel and DeAngelo may take chances and get beat every now and then, but Im convinced we can win with these 2 guys. Hall is a playmaker and Carlos had 24 pass defended last year. I wouldnt come close to say these guys are the best duo in the league, but I would say they are solid, above average starters at their position. Smoot needs to retire and Tryon as strung together a couple good games. It is too early on Barnes.

I'd love to give props to our D, but the fact is that once we start playing real teams, they will get ripped. This defense is average at best. Monday night will reveal that.

I think that Los will be back once Blache is gone. Money talks, and Snyder has enough of it to tell Los everything he wants to hear.

I just read a post about our bad corners.

I think Hall and Rogers are a solid duo. They are not physical enough for me, but they have above average coverage skills. I think in the Redskins defense, the player that needs to make plays is the free safety - which would help Hall and Rogers be better in what they do.

I think Landry has all the tools to become a great player, but he just doesn't know enough at this point to be a good free safety; he may be miscast a bit because he would seem to be a good strong safety. Horton may be a better fit at free safety than Landry. Landry needs to focus on positioning and anticipation when the ball is in the quarterback's hands. When you start seeing Landry around the ball more after it's thrown, that's when you will start seeing the secondary playing at a noticeably higher level.

I think this also applies at the SOLB spot. Once you see the SOLB (probably someone other than orakpo) around the ball more when the ball is in the runningback's hands, that's when you will start seeing the running defense playing at a noticeably higher level.

while i agree with you that we havent played any real offensive theat teams except maybe the giants in the opener, i do think our D is better than "average at best".

it seems like every week so far weve played a team in the bottom 5 in offense and defense so that 5th ranked D of ours I dont see sticking once we play better teams. that being said, i think we still end up near the top 10 Ds in the league at seasons end, even with the 3 n out offense we have.
