Serviceable sucks donkey. It is unacceptable!
Let us all agree that Cooley's blocking good or bad was the least thing that we had to worry about in this offense.

I feel bad for Cooley--he's a good guy. But whatever. The season is in the toilet. Let's see what FD can do.

It's not good when your second string TE is almost as bad as your starting LT at pass blocking.
So much for Heyer being our best offensive player thus far I guess.

So much for Heyer being our best offensive player thus far I guess.Well, I mean, what's been done in the past is what it is. He's been our best lineman this year, which hardly guarantees his spot on next years team. Seriously. The only guy who is a good bet to be back is Dockery, and that's because he has a really good contract.
Our receivers are pathetic. Just horrendous. And the Quarterback situation has deteriorated every year since 2006. So with Cooley out, Heyer still might be the best guy on the field, especially if we put Todd Collins in at QB. That doesn't mean I forsee a pro bowl in his future, or even a contract.

Glad he's getting hurt during a lost cause for a season rather then a playoff run. Ironically this injury might extend his career. Still we're getting closer and closer to that 5th overall pick.

Right now we'd pick 8th, coming into a tougher part of the season.

The season's lost. Let's IR cooley and and start Fred Davis and see what he can do. perhaps we can trade one of them for draft picks in the offseason.

Cooley isn't a good blocker, but he's not terrible like Davis is. It's not just in the pass game, Davis has whiffed on some blocks in the run game. I think it's just another phase of his development, the coaches have said (according to RI) he isn't well versed in the playbook. That may be most of his problem; he's unprepared. He'll improve w/time I think.

If Cooley is to be out for the larger part of the season, if not the entire season, then this is probably the best season to be out for. The upside is that we will get to see more of what Fred Davis is all about, which is what we need to do. Davis needs to take advantage of this and play up to expectations. If he plays well the rest of the season (and learns how to block in the meantime) then having both him and Cooley healthy for next season could be a great thing for us! Kind of like a Clint Didier/Don Warren combo.

Zorn says bone chip on the medial side of the ankle.
Zorn is now the Team Nurse?
Better than playcaller, I guess. :D
