Nice breakdown as usual.. I know that I've probably put in every post about Campbell his windup and inability to give receivers a chance to make a play and it's good to see that reaffirmed.

tryfuhl 10-30-2009, 11:05 AM Nice breakdown as usual.. I know that I've probably put in every post about Campbell his windup and inability to give receivers a chance to make a play and it's good to see that reaffirmed. warriorzpath 10-30-2009, 11:31 AM We've gone over so many of these issues....there's not a lot new and it's really a shame. Writing about the same problems and nothing seems to change or improve. We just keep hitting new lows. Each week I tell myself, "Last week was pretty bad, we've got to get better this week". Was it Einstein that said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? This is the main problem with the offense - there's nothing different from week to week because the same problems still exist. And the best thing you can take from mistakes is being able to improve. The old saying that "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" holds true only if you learn from the experience. This IS crazy: the way that the WHOLE redskins offense do not learn from their mistakes. It's like Campbell's stout defenders; I think they are in DENIAL. And this is the reason why they don't improve - they refuse to see their mistakes. It is like a 12-step recovery from addiction (which is really not being able to stop doing what you think is bad for you). The first step is to admit to your mistakes and hold yourself accountable for your own actions. Slingin Sammy 33 10-30-2009, 02:07 PM On the OL personnel, do you know that Zorn is deciding the line-up? I would have thought that would be left to Bugel.I don't know who is making the decision on the line-up, however the responsibility falls on the HC/OC, not the OL coach. If it ain't working the HC must fix it. SolidSnake84 10-30-2009, 04:09 PM If it had to come down to a quarterback change, which may happen this season regardless, does Jim Zorn get to still make that call?? Or would Sherm suggest to Zorn that they try a different QB just to see what happens.... SmootSmack 10-31-2009, 05:48 PM I went back and watched some game tape and Devin Thomas has really improved his route running...but he kind of reminds me of Mr. Burns trying to swat a fly when he's blocking Heyer got burned so often because his footwork was terrible. He never got his feet set and thus was often turned around Finally, I'm on the draft a QB in the first round bandwagon. We need a franchise QB (although in this draft we may find that guy in the 2nd round) that command the offense. What I see right now is Campbell not trusting the OL and the OL not trusting Campbell. Campbell is missing too many opportunities and checking down more often than he should. I think it's fear that if he holds the ball one more second something bad will happen. In a way, it seems like he doesn't even trust himself anymore. I think Snyder and Cerrato were hoping, I mean I know they were hoping, Campbell would react with a vengeance to all the offseason QB issues and trade talk but he seems to have responded in just the way they feared. He needs to be coddled it seems Now I'm not saying don't draft linemen, just saying (and I said this in another thread as well) we'll have better success offensively with a stud QB than a stud line Slingin Sammy 33 11-01-2009, 12:25 PM If it had to come down to a quarterback change, which may happen this season regardless, does Jim Zorn get to still make that call?? Or would Sherm suggest to Zorn that they try a different QB just to see what happens....At this point a QB change to salvage the season will not help IMO. The only reason you make a QB change now is to evaluate Woodson and see if he stays and has the opportunity to compete for the #1 job next year. That being said, Zorn certainly will not make that decision. He has to try to win games now. To do that, JC is the best option. Collins is far less mobile, has a much weaker arm, and with no significant run game will fare no better than JC. If the change to Woodson is made, it would have to come from the FO through Lewis or Zorn would have to be fired. A star QB behind an average OL = a pretty good offense. I don't want us to reach on a Bradford, McCoy, Tebow and miss. I haven't done my draft QB homework thoroughly yet (wink, wink) to see if we have any other options in this draft.
