Heard Zorn this morning say that Portis will start when he comes back, but will be pulled for Betts if he's ineffective. Also, Zorn stated that Portis will not be allowed to come back until he completes a full week of practice.
If he sticks to his word, I'm fine with Portis starting again. With Levi Jones and Chad Rhinehart helping out the line, maybe CP can do something productive again.

What you gonna do when Betts gets dinged and fatigued and has an off year? Get rid of Betts?
Its not about having an off year (at least in my opinion), Portis is done, he is a shell of what he was in Denver and in his first couple years here.
He will never be a premier RB in the NFL again.
Portis appears to be a lazy, G'd up wanna be superstar that can get away with anything he wants.
team cancer.

the stats support it
this year he is injured.....last year brady was injured but was still considered a top QB in the league.....even tho portis is hurt he is still considered a top running back in this league
even if its not by the fans of his own team
anyone who thinks portis isnt a good back is delusional
ive read your opinions of portis over the season and its obvious you spear head things when it comes to portis hating.....right now everybody is upset so they grab on to every pessimistic view of whatever anybody wants to talk about....but that gets in the way of facts
some thread about how many backs are worse than portis? are you really using a season in which he is injured and your redskins stink to judge whether the running back that is basically asked to carry your team is still talented?
...amazing
Once again...have you watched a single Redskins game this year?

i think somebody said the same thing about kurt warner
somebody said somethin similar about bill belichick when he got kicked out of cleveland
probably said the same thing about brett favre
yea.....theres never been anybody in the league to bounce back after a down year....especially not anybody older than 27

Im not hating...I don't think he is good, thats my observation from watching every game of his Redskins career. Just my opinion, but I think its shared by others with way more knowledge of the game.
Im not going to argue that he has put up good numbers in his career, I just think he is done being productive.
I don't get the whole "he is hurt" arguement....he has been hurt for the last 3 years....if he can't or won't prepare his body for an NFL season thats even more of an indication he should hang it up. Bottom line he just comes across as an entitled cry baby with a sub par work ethic....bad for the team.

have you?
how comfortable do you feel getting called out for not knowing the team you call your own?
you are a pessimist and look for the worst thing in everything....portis is in the prime of his career and you are letting a losing season get in the way of the truth
there are teams around the league that would love to have a quality back like clinton portis......but you're probably right.....portis is washed up at 27 years old and nearly 10000 career rushing yards

QB is totally different position, one in which you dont
take nearly the physical punishment. Plus you don't hear about Warner or Farve missing practice or refusing to play in the preseason.
Belichick is a coach, how does that even compare?

Still haven't answer the question....I question whether or not you have even seen him play this year.
But yes, I have watched every game/carry/yard of CP's career in DC
I am far from a pessimist....I see the good that Betts could do for the team if the organization stops cow towing to CP because he has a bloated contract.
he is 28 by the way, with a ton of injuries piling up, thats far from "in his prime" by NFL running back standards.

canton legend - running backs endure alot of wear and tear. of course portis was a great top 5 back for awhile in this league and was by far our best offensive player for years. we know that.
but portis has over 2,000 carries now, injuries are stacking up, bone spurs dont just go away to my kowledge, and he rarely practices for years now.
when turner hits 2,000 carries i doubt he will be just as explosive as he is now. at 300 plus carries a year, turner will need more than 4 straight seasons of 300 plus carries before he is near portis' current wear and tear of 2,100 somethin carries.
lol, in 4 - 6 years do you think turner will still be a top 5 or 10 runningback in this league? add in turner will probably not even finish at least one of those years b/c of season ending injury.
