Watching those highlights of Portis' runs downfield against the Bears I'm really impressed by Coles and Gardner's blocking. I think that's something that Jacobs needs to work on

If you have a video camera you can hook it up to your cable box or Direct TV and record the game directly onto your camera and then upload the game onto your computer. Then you can pick out the clips you want. The only thing is, it's not as instantaneous as having the game record directly to your computer. I wanted to do this a few weeks ago but I gave up because there were no "highlight" clips in my opinion. Since then I haven't had the time to do it. Another down fall is you have to pay attention and change the tapes....otherwise it stops recording at the end of a tape. That Guy 10-19-2004, 08:39 AM you don't need tivo, you just need a $20-50 TV capture card, the cable from the wall plugs straight into the computer and you can use your monitor like a TV and/or record it directly to your hard drive (and if you want, recompress it with divx for much smaller file sizes)... a USB TV card would work as well. Where can you pick up one of those things? That Guy 10-19-2004, 09:04 AM best buy, compusa, circuit city, newegg.com, microcenter etc etc... lemme get you some links... pinnacle and ati make some of the cheaper ones (i have one in all of my computers, nice thing to have)... That Guy 10-19-2004, 09:23 AM this one from newegg.com is TV capture + remote ($29): http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=15-100-129&DEPA=1 usb solution: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-144-308&depa=1 you can also get cards that do FM radio as well if that's a big deal, for most people its not (doesn't cost a whole lot more). also, ati all-in-wonder graphics cards do TV capture (as well a being a good gfx card)... if you want to do things the other way (watch stuff from your computer on your TV, for gaming etc), you need a graphics card with an S-video output (common even on 30$ gfx cards now)... newegg.com is the best store to buy anything computer related from... usually get it in 2-3 days, much easier to deal with than best buy etc, 10,000+ customers... they're legit, i've bought thousands of dollars of crap from them over the years. denim_monger 10-19-2004, 09:39 AM just pop the tape in the old vcr and push record duh Gmanc711 10-19-2004, 12:43 PM Thanks, thatguy. SkinsRock 10-19-2004, 02:15 PM I love that last Portis run where he is dragging guys on his back....can you say "Mini-Riggo"??? :headbange |
