I think if DS sees that the talent is there and we are still losing it may be looked at as a coaching issue in which could give Vinny some wiggle room. There are many ways to look at it. Yeah Vinny leaving would be a dream come true but it seems he finds a way to stick.

But it may be that Vinny is already gone, although this won't be announced until January 4.
Methinks that Snyder has already decided on housecleaning but doesn't want to act until the end of the season.

i say not scoring a td and settling for a fg is probably the cause for our loss, which goes back to coaching and play calling. which i think is where the blame lies yet again
Well to be fair to the coaches and play calling JC did throw two picks which I'm sure had something to do with the play calling.

What sort of relationship does Vinny have with Shanahan, if any?
I'm guessing if Shanahan comes in he will be able to set up his own front office structure, no?
Well, sometimes I hear they get along other times I hear they don't. But I think Shanahan would want complete and final authority but would want someone to basically coordinate everything, which is something Cerrato is probably willing to do.
I honestly don't know what will happen. I've thought for a while (some of it based on things I had heard) that Cerrato would remain with the organization but in a role that really has no say over the football operations).
Still, he needs to go in my opinion mainly because of the perception about him. I mean look at some of the responses we've seen here. "What if our draft picks start to play well...would that mean we're stuck with Vinny Cerrato?" Isn't that kind of backwards thinking? Shouldn't we be excited about our young guys playing well?

Didn't they work together in San Fran at one time?

I disagree with that assessment of the defense. If anything I think that the defense has kept us in games. They are top 5 in keeping teams out of the endzone. You can't honestly think they are going to shut out every NFL team, every time especially with the way the rules are set up to help offenses
Two weeks in a row the defense kept the Skins in a game UNTIL the 4th quarter when the Skins had the lead and the defense had the opponent in bad field position. At that point in time, the defense folded like a card table chair...
Happened two weeks in a row. Has happened at least a half dozen times in the last two years - - maybe 8 times? The offense is not very good but the defense has to take its fair share of the responsibility for losing games. To this point, they have pretty much gotten a pass...
