A lot of y'all replies are like i was lobbying for Williams to be brought in but that not what i asked. i simply asked with what is his worth or trade value on the market. It's hard to judge IMO because he's always split carries with another RB plus they obviously thought he wouldn't be the featured back when they drafted Stewart & placing him on the trading block now.
He's worth a late 3rd rounder.

I wouldn't do anything higher than a 3rd maybe 4th or stand pat and draft one of the many RB's coming out of college ..

This is great! We have people who think we can get a 3rd rounder for Portis but Williams is worth a late 3rd rounder???
I would trade Cooley and or Portis and Cooley straight up for him but it will never happen so it really doesn't matter.

DEFINETLY TRADE FOR WILLIAMS!!!!
Hes the explosive player all year i was saying to buddies i wish wed trade for.. him or Chris Johnson.....speakin as if it would never happen.. AND NOW HES AVAILABLE?... Id trade picks for him all day.
Sure well have to FULLY fix the OL... but that can be done too.
Were the perfect team for him right now... Especially with Shanahan on the horizon.
But D Williams would be a MONSTER PICKUP... Thing is this time we dont have a Champ Bailey to deal.
And i wouldnt wanna give up Cooley... id like to have both, shit.

I hear ya, but people are naturally going to take it to the next level and wonder if we should trade for him.

Carlos Rogers for D. Williams
or
Jason Campbell and a 5th for D. Williams and a 3rd.
Running backs are always available in the later rounds of the draft (however their blitz pick-up is the problem).

In all honesty they are better off keeping him. They might get a 3rd for him like others have said, but he is a proven commodity to his team. Getting rid of him may end up backfiring in their face, especially if they do not use one of their picks on another back. I can understand wanting to get better in other areas of your team, but chances are you will not get in return what his value is to the team.
Edit: Yes I know that they have Stewart waiting in the wings, but you have to have 2 good backs these days.

There are lots of people who are clueless. We couldn't get more than a 5th for Portis. And I wouldn't trade Cooley for a RB. I would trade Portis straight up for him though.
