Even with CP back, I'm pretty sure we'll see a RB taken in the draft. Interesting to note that Shanahan was interested in trading for Betts a few years ago.
Yeah I noticed that too in the Cartwright/Campbell video.. I wonder what Shanahan was offering.

That is one confusing ass poll, you have the thread titled, "Do you want him back?" and then you ask the question, "Do you want him gone?"
I voted "No" because I don't want him on the team. I think he should be gone. I was fine with his antics until he started throwing people under the bus, namely the starting quarterback. That can't slide, especially not with the poor production we've seen from him recently.
Cut his ass during the cap free season and go after a young guy with more gas in the tank.

In a vacuum, yes, I want Portis back next season.
In reality, there's outside factors that may make it impractical to bring him back. We have to be mindful of the whole situation. The days of doing what Portis thinks should be done are over.

I just think salary cap wise, it would be stupid to let Portis go despite his comments, just make it clear to him that anything less than 100% participation in all voluntary and non-voluntary activities will be unacceptable.
Draft a RB to come in as a change of pace back who takes over the starting role the following season unless Portis shows massive improvement

I agree with you; even if you wanted to keep him for one more year, his contract would really buckle you down any other time you wanted to get rid of him. Now is the best time.
Second, running backs are a dime a dozen and the person who drove home that philosophy is now the head coach. Portis isn't helping himself with all of these offseason distractions, and too be honest, he isn't the same player anymore. Let him go.
I wonder whether they really have patched things up or just removed the conflict from public view.
I think you already know.........

I voted no, especially on the firm assumption of an uncapped year. I think he may bring something to the team IF he lives up to Shanahan's criteria, but the upside is not equal to clearing out his contract when a cap comes back and what a young RB who gets schooled by Shanahan's crew could bring to the team.
CP must go
Sometime back he......"jumped the Artie"
