Don't mind TTL folks, he simply longs for the day when he can keep more of his money. It's unrealistic of course but what do you expect from a unrealistic man?
Whats wrong with wanting to keep more of his money?

Seriously. There are possibly half a million people dead in an awful disaster, and we can't get 10 posts without politics being thrown around? Pretty pathetic fellas.

No kidding.

It's not that I don't care . . . . if they aren't Americans, I care less.

Is that the new number coming out? Wow, I heard that they are just piling bodies up in the streets and the ports are so damaged that we cannot even use them to bring in supplies.

Could be half a million dead.

On the politics: having a failed state near us is bad. As a foreign policy issue, giving aid is a good idea.

On the moral issue: we are in a position to help these people, and almost no other country is in such a position. Some would argue that we have an out and out responsibility to help, in the same way one ought to help if you see a person collapse in front of you on the street. And even if it's not obligatory, it would be a good and right thing to do, in my opinion. I may not be able to buy an extra video game, but that may allow some unfortunate people to survive this disaster.

For the record.

You can donate 10$ to the Red Cross relief effort in Haiti by texting HAITI to 90999. It will show up on your phone bill.

I think the 500,000 are the lucky ones.

1999 Vargas mudslides - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_Vargas_mudslides) . Very sad . Natural disasters are so much more destructive in the poorer countries ..... I hope that the other Island countries and South American nations pitch in . I also hope for the best of all of the survivors .

Good to see the relief effort put forth by all the countries that have offered their assistance in such troubled times. Will be interesting to see just how many will be there for the long haul because Haiti is going to need massive help for a long, long time. Their whole country is going to need rebuilding. Continue to pray for the relief and recovery effort, and all the people of Haiti.
