How about F. Surprised nobody has talked about things he deliberatley lied about during his campaign. Mainly efforts to end the war, and yadda yadda yadda that he's now trying his damndest to extend indefinatley.
He said alot of stuff that he has not done like he said but as for the war he pretty much has done as he said. He said we would get out of Iraq which we are just not as fast as he stated (I give him somewhat of a pass on that because I think he had better info once in office). Af. he said he was going to build troops their which is what he is doing.

B+ i guess.
I wish he would have been way more aggressive on health care and proposed a full national plan to start...he went weak from the beginning and now we're stuck w/ the same shitty private plans in all likelihood.
MORE aggressive? He was speaking publicly EVERY day.
:D

B. he took on fixing the economy as the first thing to do in office. i think he helped stabilize what was looking to be a bottomless pit for the economy. the market leveling off then rising happened quicker than I or most on here expected. (we had a thread taking predicitons on how far the dow would fall)
i stopped following politics after my 1st year of law school. too many know it all absolutists and i found myself turning into one of them. not fun people.

C. Like every other politician... he has not affected me for better or worse in my daily life save the Cash for Clunkers program.
I would have rated Bush a C, he never affected me for better or worse in my daily life save for the stimulus checks he sent out.
Clinton, C.
And so on, and so on, and so on, and so on until the end of time.
Until we truly eliminate party lines (which will NEVER happen) things are going to be pretty much the same. The ultra-political people on here can argue me with on this all they want, but since I've been born, I can never thank nor be pissed at any political figure that's been in office nationally.

I voted for McCain, who I feel was the better candidate, but the poorer campaigner. I'd have to give Pres. Obama a C- based on how little he has done, compared with the unrealistically high hopes his supporters had for him coming in. Tempted to go into the D's on this, but like others have said, it's really early yet.

Barry is looking real good, I give him a solid B...why? This is why (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/). Can't argue with the numbers really:
* Promise Kept: 91
* Compromise: 33
* Promise Broken: 15
* Stalled: 87
* In the Works: 275
* Not yet rated: 2

Hard to argue with these grades:
F -Job Creation
Obama Abandons "Saved or Created" Jobs Claims | The Foundry: Conservative Policy News. (http://blog.heritage.org/2010/01/12/morning-bell-787-billion-in-stimulus-zero-jobs-created-or-saved/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=Morning%2BBell)
F - Transparency of Health Care Legislation: After promising live coverage of the legislation process on C-SPAN the President; 1) The final Senate bill was written in secret. 2) To secure passage, the 58 Democratic senators and two independents hashed everything out behind closed doors - without staff at one time. 3) The administration committed to more than a billion dollars in earmarks in hopes of securing the 60 votes needed to pass.
F - Crap & Trade Proposal
If passed into law, a projected loss of over 1M jobs and a minimum of a 15% cut in emissions that would cost the average household in the bottom income quintile about 3.3% of its after-tax income every year.
F - Fuzzy (to say the least) math on job creation numbers. An $ 890.00 contract does not create 9 jobs

F - WMD Preparation
FOXNews.com - White House Disputes Report Giving Obama Failing Grade on WMD Preparation (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/26/white-house-takes-issue-critical-weapons-mass-destruction-report/)
F - 2009 Congressional Effectiveness
President Obama's 2009 Congressional Effectiveness Grade F+ (http://www.heritage.org/press/commentary/ed012510d.cfm)
"President Obama submitted his first budget, a $3.6 trillion blueprint, to Congress that increased spending by $1 trillion over the next decade. The year ended with about a $1.4 trillion deficit and a $12 trillion in total national debt. Obama gets a flat F for the fact that this administration has done nothing to lower government spending that was too high during the Bush years and seemed to accelerate month by month with the new administration."
However he does get the following good grade:
A - Mobilizing Conservatives
"Obama gets and A+ for helping to do what so many conservative leaders have failed to do over the past 20 years, organize a divergent movement around the idea of limited government, a balanced budget, no more bailouts, we the people being allowed to participate in government, low taxes and a respect for free market capitalism."
A - Scott Brown win in MA, taking over "Teddy Kennedy's" seat.
But don't take just my word for it, here's a link to a CBS poll on Obama's first year job perfromance. Put in your grades and submit and you'll get the numbers of how folks responding feel. The poll has been up for over a week.
