Really? I am sure you have if you think about it.
firstdown 04-06-2010, 10:39 AM Does that count gas?
No one tank full in my boat at current prices is around $450. Most trips out we probably don't burn more then 15 to 20 gallons so its not that bad for a day of fun. Now if I'm out with my buds we will probably burn 30 to 45 gallons because we will go furture looking for bigger fish but we usually split the gas cost so it actually less out of my pocket.

If I remeebr correctly 1st down said he doesn't use much gas. My buddy has like a 25 footer and he fills it like 3 times a summer if that. A small fishing boat should not use much assuming you are using the current to troll (sp) with and you are not going 100 miles off shore.
firstdown 04-06-2010, 10:41 AM Grew up on the Finger Lakes and have been around boats since I was young. Not looking at any major as I live on a smallish lake. Probably a 20 footer at the most.
Not sure why but I always think that you live in the DC area. My last boat was a 20' and we did do some lake trips which I really enjoy.
Born and raised in NY. My Dad lived in DC for about 10 years though.

Honestly never saw it, I was never a big fan of the horror/slasher films

Actually the size of the boat is only a small part of the rate you burn fuel. My prior boat was 20' with 150 HP. and my current boat is a 25' with a 280 HP but its better on gas. The older outboard motors are great but they suck gas like crazy and my new boat has an inboard/outboard and its great on gas compared to the older outboards. Now the newer outboards are better on gas because of technology but they are big $ to have any work done on them.
