I doubt his massive ego will allow him to come cheap.

Guy's a narcissistic jerk, always been a problem child in locker rooms where ever he went. He'd be perfect for the Cowboys, Raiders or Belichick's collection of big heads.

i dont see any quality FA between the ages 27 - 33 coming cheap or accepting a "prove it" 1 or 2 year contract.

porter, wilfork, peppers, b marshall all want long term, lucrative contracts imo. this is their last real big pay day, especially for wilfork who has played 6 seasons under his rookie contract.

no way they sign for less than 3 -4 years. no way is it going to be a cheap or modest contract. imo.

If he's cut why not give him a look? He's still a very productive player.
No harm in that. Seems like nobody wants ANYONE that we don't draft. Oh, and they have to be O-Line.

How about instead of Porter we sign possibly-soon-a-UFA Adalius Thomas?

i feel like porter would come here and possibly start fights in the locker room with someone else. Don't care for him anymore

I wouldnt trade anything of value for him. If he gets cut i would POSSIBLY look at him but unlikely, with no cba next year we could get him cheap and if he starts any bullsh!t we could cut him.

i'd rather have rolando mcclain or brandon spikes...maybe not spikes unless it's in the 4th round.

spikes in the 4th round? looool

Yeah as long as you don't give him a ridiculous contract why not? He keeps himself in great shape and is still a productive player. I don't see why he couldn't have another 2-3 quality seasons left. These are the same people that were saying to bring Washington back in, despite his age and injury concerns, heh.

Let's go back in history....

1) Jeff George - signed @ 32yrs for $18 as a backup quarterback for $18 million/4yrs. Played six games his first season, then fired in 2001.
2) Bruce Smith - signed @ 37yrs for $23 million for 4 years from Snyder
3) Deion Sanders - signed @ 33yrs for $8 million signing bonus, $55 million/7yrs (quit in 2001).
4) Jason Taylor - signed @ 34yrs for 2nd/6th round picks, $8 million/year.

Let me reiterate, signing an old veteran is not a good idea. They usually take the money, and never are worth it. At least Bruce Smith got us 29 sacks..
