On Feb 4th, Tai Shan, the 4 year old Giant Panda at The National Zoo will hop a flight to China to enter into a wildlife conservation program.

The only time that I got to see him was not long after he was born and was available for viewing on the video monitor only.

I've loved the zoo since I was a kid and my grandmother lived in Adams Morgan, just a hop away from the zoo. The Pandas were always my favorite, so it's a bittersweet moment for me personally.

Later buddy!

lol well I'll comment. I saw him at the zoo about a couple of years ago. It was pretty cool.

Do we not have anymore pandas now? I want pandas back. :(

And tryfuhl, I don't hate pandas. They're delicious.

I hope that he is going to the Wulong Reserve near Chengdu. That place is panda heaven.

Keep showing them video of giant panda's mating along with a little Viagra and they may eventually save the breed from extinction. Scientist have become weary of their ability to mate in captivity but who knows, maybe we'll be fortunate enough to have their image engraved on our gold and silver coins like they do in China.

Mei Xiang and Tian Tian are still there and mating season has actually begun

the pandas tried porking a few weeks ago and they artificially inseminated Mei Xiang not long after

here's a vid about it

I'm excited about heading back to the zoo this year since it's been 4 years; they were working on some new stuff, awesome day trip and good date, girls seem to like it.

If they got rid of all of the pandas, it would be un-bear-able.
