As I understand it and I could be wrong (hoge and wingo were talking about it on NFL live last night but I was falling asleep), if a restricted FA is released then they're a FA. AZ could try to resign him to a long-term contract but I'd bet he'd want to hit the open market.

Awesome, all I needed to know. Personally I'm hoping that the Packers add Daryn Colledge to the list of UFA's.

Can't believe the Saints wouldn't lock up Sharper for one more year. That non-tag surprised me.

Same here. I think that's GW's blessing and his curse. He thinks he'll get the same performance out of his system and not a single player.

Got news for the Saints. He was your best defensive playmaker and you can bet on losing 1-2 games JUST because he's not there anymore.

Sharper will stay in N.O.. Rolle will play in Miami. I think we should stick with LL and Horton, when they both started together there was little problems. When Horton got injured we started getting burned.

Assuming he's granted a clean release. By the way what is the deal with cutting ties with RFA? Do they go through the waiver system like the regular season or what?

He will require compensation from any teams that signs him depending on his tender. Now, if his team does not tender him and just outright releases him, I'm not so sure of the consequences. Someone has to help me with that one.

Both LL and Horton seem to be natural SS from what I understand. The advantage of getting a guy like Sharper or Rolle would be to move Landry to SS.

Honestly, defense is the only place that you are going to see any marquee players (Dansby, Rolle, Peppers, and Sharper) in unrestricted free agency. I don't think there are any marquee UFAs that would help our team. I don't mind us taking one or two of these players (except Peppers) to strengthen our defense.

With an outright release, a RFA becomes an UFA, pure and simple.

If Rolle is clean-free; I definitely would try to sign him.. By having Rolle, obviously would allow us to move Landry to SS.. As for Sharper, he would be nice but I highly doubt Saints would let him go (unless GW believes he can find a replacement, like always)..

As for those people who wants Moore to start as FS; I would not oppose to this move, although I think we would need to add good competitions.. We can't expect Moore to excel as good player when he was riding the bench for last two years.. Good competitions means Rolle, or Whitner (a possibility?) or whoever else we can get thr FA or draft..

Sharper will be allowed to test the market. It all depends if he wants a multi-year deal or a one-year deal with a lot money (which given the uncapped year, it would be feasible by just about any team).

If Rolle would be released, there would be no strings attached, he would be an unrestricted FA. I can see a multi-year deal with Rolle. If Rolle is a viable option though, I wonder if the team would rather have him or Dansby (who will probably want a multi-year deal).

Yup, even Sharper believes so too.. I'm surprised by that move, although I assume it's only because GW believes he can find a replacement.. Or maybe Saints are eyeing for a rookie through draft? Or GW have an idea of moving Jenkins to FS?

Good question, I guess it depends on what Haslett thinks which is more important.. After all, we need a player for each position.. It depends on draft too - whether if there's a FS or LB in draft Haslett would like to draft.. I wouldn't know which to want if I was Haslett, granted I don't know that much about Rolle or Dansby.. But either player would be good pick-up..

So...the Saints are letting their FS go. Now they need one. Their defensive coordinator was once here and was vital in drafting Laron Landry. Saints are reportedly shopping their LTs (Brown and Bushrod). We need a LT...
