ESPN has suspended TV commentator Tony Kornheiser for remarks about fellow ESPN personality Hannah Storm, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

Kornheiser, the popular host of the show "Pardon the Interruption," is known for making sports figures the subject of his humorous criticism, but in a recent show he aimed his commentary at Storm's wardrobe.

"Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today," Kornheiser said. "She’s got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt … way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now.

"She’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body … I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … but Hannah Storm … come on now! Stop! What are you doing?"

Kornheiser opened his radio show the next day by apologizing, saying, "I apologize, unequivocally ... I'm a sarcastic, subversive guy ... I'm a troll, look at me. I have no right to insult what anybody looks like or what anybody wears. That, I think, should go without saying."

SportsByBrooks (http://www.yardbarker.com/all_sports/article_external/ESPN_Removes_Kornheiser_From_PTI_For_3_Days/2133453) reported the suspension will be for three days.

The 61-year-old Kornheiser -- a former columnist for the Washington Post and broadcaster for ESPN's Monday Night Football telecasts -- has hosted PTI since 2001.

Don't like the guy but in his defense:

kornheiser has let what lil popularity he has enjoyed go to his head imo.

his talk radio show in the mornings isnt even about sports, which i think he has grown tired of covering and talking about.

its all about him and hollywood and celebrities and tv shows. its not about who won what award at an award ceremony; its about who he sat next to or talked with at an award ceremony.

his comedy schtick is old and not funny. dont know why espn radio decided to toss him back to us for local radio.

this hannah storm thing is the perfect example. he's talking about what a sports reporter is wearing and not what she is reporting.

I used to be a Kornheiser fan until he went to MNF and became a cry-baby when people criticized him.

Last week I was listening to him on my way to work, around 9:30-10am and he said something about Gilbert Arenas and his fall from grace with the Wizards. He said something to effect of "Eventually, Gilbert wanted his jersey hung at Verizon Center, but now people want to hang him from the rafters."

He didn't use it in the context that it suggests but I thought he may face some scrutiny for phrasing it like that even though it was an off the cuff remark.

So when I saw "susupended" I thought it was for that remark. It seems to me that Tony tries too hard to maintain his quirky personality and it is no longer candid. I'm a fan of anyone from the DC area though so I can't say that I hate the guy...he just seems irrelevant to me.

He tends to get diarrhea of the mouth at times, this is one of them

I liked him better as a columnist for the WashingtonPost. Tony has been dabbling in some things he's not best suited for.
