I think that we could definitely get okung. But keep in mind that the skins really like Eric Berry and supposedly trent williams so a trade down is also very likely.
Russell Okung visits the RedskinsCultBrennan59 04-06-2010, 02:33 AM I think that we could definitely get okung. Definitely lessens the loss of picks from the trade (which I don't even think is that bad in the first place). jdc65 04-06-2010, 04:33 AM In my opinion, if Okung is available at 4, then take him. He should be a pro-bowl type player for a decade. If Okung is gone, to Detroit, then I would hope they look to trade down, and accumulate more picks. I do not believe there is a significant difference between the 2nd-6th Tackle. Brown and Saffold project very well as Left Tackles, and should be available in the late 20's. Our 4th round almost certainly has to go O-line now and Kyle Calloway, Marshall Newhouse, and Ed Wang should all be available. CRedskinsRule 04-06-2010, 07:05 AM I just don't see them getting Okung on the 4th with so many other needs elsewhere and few picks. There is going to be lots more activity and trades. At this point, what other need is more pressing to this team than a LT? As SS said, with McNabb in the fold our QB situation stabilized, and no other need was as glaring as the Oline. If we don't take Okung(or Williams) I will be ready to join GTripp in calling someone an idiot! murphy196 04-06-2010, 08:44 AM Well, the thing that sucks about the McNabb deal getting done so early is that we lose all leverage that we had for trading Campbell and also for trading our #4 pick. Teams know now that we won't go for a QB with that pick, so they will stay put or trade with teams after us. Other than that, I love McNabb in the B&G. Monkeydad 04-06-2010, 08:47 AM I just don't see them getting Okung on the 4th with so many other needs elsewhere and few picks. There is going to be lots more activity and trades. LT is our BIGGEST NEED! Why wouldn't we cover that one first? MTK 04-06-2010, 09:09 AM Assuming we stay at #4 I can't see us going anywhere but LT. Monkeydad 04-06-2010, 09:11 AM Losing the 2nd Round pick for a new QB can only be a beneficial trade if we get a franchise tackle in the first round. If getting McNabb somehow prevents us from helping the O-line...it will end up being a very bad deal for us. Keeping Campbell + getting offensive line help > McNabb and no help on the line I hope we still get Okung or Trent Williams. We should also pursue a RT in a trade if we don't pick up more draft selections to get one. Regardless of how the draft goes down and how many deals we make...by the time training camp starts, we need two new tackles...starter quality, not just replacements. As SS said, with McNabb in the fold our QB situation stabilized, and no other need was as glaring as the Oline. If we don't take Okung(or Williams) I will be ready to join GTripp in calling someone an idiot! How about a RT? LT? LB's? Our main needs are in the OL and LB positions, QB and RB are stable now. SFREDSKIN 04-06-2010, 10:55 AM LT is our BIGGEST NEED! Why wouldn't we cover that one first? We still can if we trade down and still pick more picks to also get a RT and LB. |
