Lotus 04-25-2010, 05:10 PM I was wondering about him since he's expendable when they picked Staffold, and he could be better in Shanahan's ZBS. Do you see him getting cut or us trading for him?
My guess is that he gets cut. They have three young, good tackles in Smith, Saffold, and Trautwein, and they didn't draft them because they are in love with Barron. Besides, Barron will make $2.4 mil., and that is a lot to pay your fourth tackle. Just a guess.
For the same reasons, he should be cheap to trade for, if it comes to that.

I view your projected line-up to be more than 95% accurate. Torain, if healthy could be the best back on the roster. Marco Mitchell I like but he's limited. Sundberg is much younger and will probably get the nod, Albright is still one of the best at what he does. Where does Terrance Austin fit into your equation, will he be our KR?
BigHairedAristocrat 04-26-2010, 11:05 AM I know this is preliminary, but I think we'll bring in at least one veteran WR, ILB, and FS who will make the roster. Teams should start cutting some veterans this week and hopefully another teams trash can become our treasure. My biggest fear is that Jarmon ends up not making the team. I dont think hes versatile enough to really fit in our new defense, but i could be wrong.

Good. I'm hoping that trade talks for him resume. Given the drafting of Charles Brown, Jammal should be cheaper to get.

I wonder what we could trade to acquire him. the only players we have i could see them wanting are McIntosh, Landry, and Haynesworth. At this point, i'm opposed to trading Haynesworth, unless the saints would give us Brown and their 2011 1st rounder, which aint happening. If Landry can add a few pounds and play ILB full-time, then i'm ok with trading McIntosh and a mid 2011 pick for Brown but thats it.

I really hope your RB projection ends up being correct. I want some youth at that position. It killed me to see Joe McNight go in the 4th round to another team!

Me too. I hope Riley, who we drafted in the 4th instead, makes us forget about McKnight.

Yes I realize theres 54 but I can't decide who to cut. Candidates to me include Henson, Bryant - Peterson - or Green, and Tryon
Red - Indicates Rookie
Blue - Free Agent Aquisition
Everything really looks to be in place on your depth chart, I'm not sure I'd make any changes. I definitely see all of our draft picks making the team, they were all great value picks. We had a GREAT draft.
I do think we'll have one more RB, probably Torrain, but I'm undecided who to cut. We need to keep all of those linemen. Maybe Green? Maybe Cook or an existing player can be the LS instead of occupying a roster spot just for LS duties. We've been spoiled by having a great dedicated LS over the years with the Red Snapper. Most teams use an existing lineman, TE or LB to perform that duty.
To your dilemma - cut Henson.
