Looks like I was wrong. They can in fact breed. It's just that it's easier for the females to do it then the males.

I think I read somewhere that they can grow to gigantic proportions because the genes that regulate growth get wonky in the crossbreeding.
Only serves to make them even more epic.

I always thought they were a joke from Napoleon Dynamite but apparently Tigers and Lions can cross breed. Ironically though thanks to an odd number of chomosones the ligers themselves are effectively sterile.

Y'all didn't know? A tiger will win in a fight against a lion though. I saw it on YouTube. So we know who's on top!

Man I've known about ligers for a while now. I was down in Miami several years ago with the family, and my aunt took us to some joint called Parrot Jungle Island or something along those lines, and they had a liger in there. That thing was f'n massive lookin, I mean damn you think those pics are big and when he was standing up he scared the hell out of me and i'm 6'2 230 lol. I was like wth is that, OH SHIT lol it's a liger. But no seriously if it came down to a three way fight between a lion, tiger, and liger, that liger would beat some ass.

I've seen ligers on film. I actually felt sorry for them. They looked really funky, unhealthy, and not happy.

Aren't they breed mostly for their skills in magic?
Anyway, here's a Retiger:
