damn really? What level are you playing on?
I can barely get CP out of the backfield before he gets hit, but for some reason the line always blocks well for LJ. Hmmmm
All Pro, I cannot mess with All Madden yet.
Try accelerating a little slower in the backfield to allow your blocks to set up. i know I sound like the game tips but its true.
I only press the joystick to the maximum once I have broke free. Its easier to pull of spins and jukes and hit holes when you are between 65-85% of your maximum speed. You are also less likely to run into the back of your own blocker.
What I've noticed is that our interior line gets destroyed on almost every running play, and Portis is usually getting hit 1-2 yds behind the line of scrimmage. I have started juking hard immediately (whichever way looks open) after receiving the hand off and it seems to help. I've had a few breakaways with Portis and it's funny how he is always getting run down from behind. He definitely took a big hit this year. RB will be one of my first picks in the draft.
I've pretty much given up on the run. It's an all out air attack with McNabb. Cooley and Davis are both nearing 1,000 and DT isn't far behind.

Does leaning forward make you run faster in the game? I thought that's what I had read, but I really don't notice any burst with CP...
edit- Never mind, just re-read the blog, looks like leaning forward actually decreases your speed.

I'm on all-pro too.
I actually turned sprint off to see if it would help but it hasn't. Like I said for some reason CP gets stuffed all the time and is averaging about 3 yards a pop, but LJ always gets good blocking and is averaging just over 5 per carry.

That's how I figured out the running game on previous versions. I'd always start beating on the turbo button as soon as I took the handoff. Once I figured out that if I wait until getting in the open or at least past the LOS to hit it...I had great success running the ball.

I use Portis on All-Madden and I always find holes.

Just last night I rushed for 216 yards with LJ against the Eagles, and I was playing on All Pro. The difference between him and CP are night and day, to me.
I tip my hand to everybody who uses Portis, because even my brother said that Portis runs differently in that game compared to LJ. Looking in depth at the players, LJ has the stat advantage in several categories, which i think is why he does better.
He has higher strength, stiff arm, and truck. This is why he can rumble foreward and break tackles...its obvious now. Look at the stats to see for yourself.

LJ is still my goaline back. CP is my all around back. When CP is hurt I use LJ except on 3rd downs, then I use Willie Parker.
