That happens with me and the outlook preview window that pops up when you are in something else. I will be working in excel and my peripheral vision will fabricate a phantom box in the bottom right of my screen, annoying!

That feeling is the government sending you a new update for your mind control. During your short blackout you read the message, delete the evidence and then place your phone back in your pocket. You awake and check your phone and find nothing.
