Vonnie Holliday (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=173272&id=1340)
Redskins signed DE Vonnie Holliday, formerly of the Broncos.
Holliday is 34, but was one of the most productive per-snap 3-4 ends in the game last season, so he's certainly worth a look as a rotational body. He also has experience in the 3-4 as a five-technique with the Dolphins and Broncos. The more interesting aspect of this addition is that it could be a sign the 'Skins are still trying to trade Albert Haynesworth. SI's Ross Tucker is hearing that talks between the Vikings and Redskins are still alive.
If this is true, he sounds solid as a backup/rotating player. His sack numbers look good for not being a full-time player over his career.
Not sure what signing a rotational guy has to do with trading AH, but hey they've gotta keep the story cookin' somehow.

ross tucker hasnt been pushing the haynesworth trading story as far as i can tell. this would be new for him. however, even JLC said the viking/skins trade rumors had died down, so i dont know where this came from.

For those keeping score we currently have 15 OL on the roster, 12 DL.
The DL number doesn't count guys like Carter, Jarmon, or Rak who are listed as LB.
It's going to make for interesting cut down days.

Too many question marks all over the D-line. I do like the low risk high reward type signings but I wonder if any of these guys can actually play. Daniels can't run around my mother so he's a complete waste of time and a roster spot. Kemoeatu didn't play last year and is coming off a serious injury. Haynesworth may or may not be in shape. Carriker also is coming off an injury and even when he was played he really showed nothing. Jarmon is also coming off an injury. Not sure how Carter fits in with the new defense. Holiday is got to be on the other side of 35 and has bounced around the last hfew years. I'd say the only guy that we can 100% count on is Orakpo.
Yeah this is the way i see it too. A lot of old guys, injuries, and question marks. And it’s not like our LB corps is exactly proven in a 3/4 scheme or flush with experience for the change.

yeah not much of a move here. Who knows how this will all work out come training camp. In a 3-4 there is not much room for 15 dlinemen.
So who will make the final roster.
Holliday may or may not.

agreed. Why change the D.......Our offensive line was offensive. Change that.
I think this is signing is more of a message if anything else to AH. Don't want to be part of the team then step aside!!!! Holliday hopefully plays his ass off in August and makes the team. I am sure the FO is still mulling over a potential AH trade.

I consider this more of Allen saying" F%^& you AH!" than anything else. At this point I would keep AH arounds since nobody wants to touch that "toxic" contract of his and his now displayed shitty attitude. Let him fulfill his contract out(unless you can indeed get a nice trade deal for him
) and let him sit. Keep the guy in limbo in his own self imposed purgatory. He is only hurting his career in the long run. Holliday is a 3-4 man anyway, so he should be a keeper for depth at least and maybe a part time starter.

Billie Holliday the famous female Jazz singer.
