NBA Screwed?: James Leaning Towards Heatdrew54 07-08-2010, 09:48 PM Poor Cleveland, They lose Lebron and earlier in the year Continental Airlines merger with United. This will be murder to the economy. Dirtbag59 07-08-2010, 09:51 PM Lebron James is now breaking up with Cleveland on National Television. SmootSmack 07-08-2010, 09:54 PM Cleveland fans are taking it hard. Can't say I blame them. Can anyone tell me if some Native American Tribe cursed the city of Cleveland? Cleveland fans need to get over it. Yeah, I feel bad for them. But this is LeBron's career. Many of us have had to make the decision to leave home in deference to what's best for our career. The Cavs also could have gotten Amare last year if they had just been willing to part with JJ Hixon. Apparently he was too valuable to trade, but not too valuable to take off the bench during the playoffs. And they should feel fortunate that he was even there for 7 years? How often does that happen these days where a local prep star plays (at least some of) his prime years in his hometown? It was the luck of the ping pong ball bounce (and the Cavs tanking to get a better shot at the #1 pick) that even put LeBron there in the first place. SmootSmack 07-08-2010, 10:08 PM As a Wizards fan, this of course kind of sucks In other Wizards news, former Wizards C Brendan Haywood signs a big deal with Dallas. Randy Foye joins the Clippers (along with Ryan Gomes who the Wizards were reportedly after). Another guy the Zards were reportedly after, Travis Outlaw, joining the Nets (along with Kyle Korver) Dirtbag59 07-08-2010, 10:33 PM As a Wizards fan, this of course kind of sucks In other Wizards news, former Wizards C Brendan Haywood signs a big deal with Dallas. Randy Foye joins the Clippers (along with Ryan Gomes who the Wizards were reportedly after). Another guy the Zards were reportedly after, Travis Outlaw, joining the Nets (along with Kyle Korver) People were randomly screaming "TRAVIS OUTLAW" on Wizards Insider so you knew people around the fan base really wanted him. Never have I seen so many random cries for a player since seeing "OKUNGGGGGGGGG!" saden1 07-08-2010, 10:55 PM Can't blame the guy for wanting to win year in year out and forgoing more $$$...still, I'm rooting against the Heat. Who are teams going to double team? Big C 07-08-2010, 10:59 PM It just rubs me wrong that an NBA team can work years just to position itself for all contracts to expire in order to clean the books ahead of the arrival of three superstar free agents. And poof, championship caliber team. It's just too easy. There's no in-house development of players like you have in the MLB farm systems or on the depth charts of NFL teams. In those sports, you can't just add one or two superstar free agents and expect to be necessarily any better than you were the year before. You have to develop depth, draft well, coach well. agree with this 100%. same thing with the celtics a few years ago. shitty team, had cap space, and bam, nba title contender year in year out. really makes me lose a lot of interest in the nba tbh. warpaint 07-08-2010, 11:01 PM houston rockets!!!!!
