I think we def. need to cut him this year. Our cap for next year is about 70 mill. So we don't have much room. Were def. gonna have to cut some people. Chap Morton, Ronaldo Wynn. But i don't think it would be wise for us to keep his salary around, especially since we have a massive cap numbers in 2006. But utlimately its gonna come down to do we keep Chris Samuels or Fred Smoot. I think either way we don't let one of them walk, they have trade value. Espically Smoot.

Speaking of the cap, did you guys know there might not even be a cap in 2007:

That would be good for the Redskins, bad for football.

WOW!! We would be the Yankees of the NFL!! :FIREdevil
:joke: I don't think it's a good idea. And I really don't think it will happen.
But I say we cut Brunell and take the big hit next year. Get it over with! :(

The cap will be there, trust me. The NFL (and the ratings) love the parity that the salary cap brings. There is no way the cap will go away anytime soon. Too many owners benefit from the cap and just about everyone knows if the cap went away we'd have about $300 million worth of players.

Let him be Ramsey's backup next year. Don't take the cap hit.

I personally trust Danny on this one. We have won every year in the spring with the way we go about signning free agents. They have consistenly shown others in the NFL how to increase revenue and seem to have a knack for creating cash and manipulating the money flow. This is one area where Danny is the king of all. We will have to cut players and that is to bad but that is what free agency and the cap makes you do. The players are pawns and they all state either they were cut for salary cap reasons or this is just a business. So they know when they sign these big deals that if they do not perform and there salary is to high they will be looking for work elsewhere but in reality they all know that they only have a few mores left in the league. So if we lose Samuels, Morton, Brunnel or even Smoot will it really matter as we will still root the the Skins and still pay for our seats.

I thought Ramsey would be starting by the end of this year anyway, so I figured Brunell would be on the bench counting his money. He will still be a good, if not a better mentor for Patrick as his back-up (almost like another coach). So I think they should keep him through next year, then cut him after June 1, 2005.

We are just going to have to take the hit. Maybe he could give back part of his signing bonus and Danny could hire him as a QB coach or something to make up for it.... (there are probably rules against that kind of thing though)
