I've never been, but I have plenty of friends who have. I hear it's fun for a day or two, but in general pretty dirty and overrated. Still, I'd go just to hit a coffee shop or two. :cool-smil
Yeah I'm thinking it would be a fun place to visit for a day or two, on your way to or back from some place else.
Have to add D.C. to my list too, for obvious reasons, plus you can't beat it for the museums and memorials

saden1 07-28-2010, 01:59 PM Anyone ever been to Amsterdam? I would love to go, but I'm gonna just wait and see what happens with California this fall ;)
I've been...it's a nice city. Lots of places to see include the red light district. Food there is meh. They speak English and are happy to speak to you. The chicks there are hot but not as hot as the Czech chicks. And of course, you can purchase 5 inch blunts for cheap...be sure to pace yourself otherwise you will lost 2 days of your life if you overdo it.
CRedskinsRule 07-28-2010, 02:01 PM New Orleans, hands down, but it helps that I lived there for a while so I know where to go/what I like to do.
+1, lived there 9 months, but it was great. I definitely enjoy that city.
Austrian and Swiss Alps,
Berchtesgaden, Hitler's hideaway. Fascinating with the history, and scenery
Vancouver, only got to spend a day, but was beautiful.
Nearly every drive across the US is an also ran. I love driving across the United States and seeing the country flow by. Nowadays alot looks the same, but is still awesome. One Christmas I was driving out from Md to Colorado Christmas eve, and in a span of 36 hours, I had driven through, MD, PA, WV, OH, Indiana,Illinois, Missouri, Kansas (Ugh) and Colo, AND Stopped at a WalMart in each state picking up Christmas presents along the way LOL.
BleedBurgundy 07-28-2010, 02:20 PM Going to Iceland in September. Can't wait!
September is a good time to visit. The cold and hardcore wind won't be in full swing yet. I assume you're going to Reykjavik... how long are you staying for?
12thMan 07-28-2010, 02:25 PM I would say Thailand was my favorite place to visit. Lots to see, very inexpensive, and lots of underground kick boxing going on. Great food, lovely ladies, and the beaches are gorgeous. Close second would be Singapore. Not so much because it's a party town, but everything is so damn clean and neat there. So obviously when you get hammered there, you feel like you're getting away with something.
The US...hmmm, I would say New York has to be funnest (is that a word) city behind Vegas. But I'll take NY over Vegas simply because it's fun in a normal kind a way. Vegas is fun on steroids. Oh, New Orleans is in a class by itself really. Just good old fun 24/7.

D.C. is pretty kick ass, Matty:)
TheMalcolmConnection 07-28-2010, 02:32 PM Key West by far. It's kind of like a super laid-back Vegas.

I'm actually only going for a weekend, next time I'll go longer. I'm really hoping I see the Aurora Borealis. Always been a wish of mine to see that, and if I get to share that moment with my wife...I might just cry double rainbow style
