So the Denver Post has an interesting Shanny article which includes a poll about which team will do better this year. When I voted about 37% said Shanny's Skins will do better. I thought that was crazy low, although another 18% said both will be about the same. Here's the link:
Who'll be better? Shanahan's Redskins or McDaniels' Broncos? - The Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_15640908)
That article had so much potential but it ended up falling short. I would have loved to have seen comparisons between the ego's of McDaniels and Shanahan, how their styles compare to one another and so on. Instead we get a one sided article about Shanahan with random quotes from the Washington Post. The poll was interesting though. A lot of the Denver fans I've talked to seem to miss Shanahan.

How did that year under the same system work for Zorn?
It's unlikely that they are going to do anything more than 8-8, and I would be shocked if they get there. In what universe does getting rid of your best 3 offensive weapons(QB, WR, TE), losing your starting LT (not McD's fault) and changing D coordinators (the one bright spot from last year) lead to a better team?
Obviously if he is anything like Zorn they will suck balls but who is to say Shanny won't suck balls his first year as a coach or have an eh season like his last few mediocre seasons? I think we have just as much changes as they do. Whether these changes are positive or negative I don't know. They play in a very weak division too...Raiders and Chiefs twice is a plus as are games against the NFC West. We will know after the season but I wouldn't bet on us having a better record.

Seriously, are you really a Skins fan, Saden? You always seem so pessimistic. The Donkeys are HORRIBLE. Their fast start last season made their record look a lot better than they really were.
Did you forget they also lost Marshall? I don't see McDaniels being a very successful head coach in the NFL.
A few years ago I played in a pick'em fantasy league and I picked the Skins to win every week...it didn't work out so well for me.

I know there's alot of IF's on our Skins but the Donkeys lost alot of key players, I think they might be Zorn #2.

This is the strongest argument for them doing better. I think nearly every position change they had was a push or for the worse. I think ours have either been a push or for the better.
Mostly I think it is an interesting discussion, but as was said the article didn't live up to the idea.
I will still say we will have an equal or better record then Denver.

It is the best argument and one in which I based giving an edge to them...too many unknowns but if I had to bet i'd bet on them having a better record.

Well, to sort of piggy-back off saden's point the Broncos are in a weaker conference, which gives them the advantage.
Look at this way, in 2008 the Chargers and Redskins each finished 8-8 (so did the Broncos for that matter); one team won their division and the other finished last in theirs

I have the Broncos winning (one) more games, but in the NFL's worst division. I have the Redskins as a better team.

Damn, I thought the Donkeys were better than 4-12 but they went exactly 4-12.
