Russ Grimm On Canton, Hot Dogs, and The Hogs

Russ did a great job and it was great to see the first Hog go into the HOF.
I have to say I was impressed by Floyd Little's speech and as much as I hated him as a player Emmit did a good job tonight too. Although that "America's Team" crap made me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit.

'Bout time Russ made it in. Was listening to George Starke yesterday (another Hog for the younger guys) and he made a very good point. He said how could Randy White get in before Russ and Russ would get the best of him every time, yet he has to wait all these years to get into the Hall. He said the same thing about Irvin and Monk.

Guys like Russ and Art were not ones to toot their own horns. They showed up and played football and let their actions both on and off the field speak for themselves. Irvin was a good player but Art should have gone in long before he did, but of course I am biased.

I think in general the Redskins teams of the 80s just don't get the respect they deserve like the 49ers teams from the same era. My own personal theory is had we beat the Raiders in the Super Bowl, I think the Skins would be considered the undisputed team of the 80s.

Loved Buges' intro. He told his own version of the 50 Gut story. But I loved the bottom line: running over Randy White 10 times in a row!

Anyone else a little bothered by Jerry's Hall of Fame speech? I mean in the course of his speech he mentioned that:

- His Dad never said "I love you."
- He was constantly in fear of failure
- His parents whooped him
- His High School Principle whooped him

And that was only in the course of one or two minutes. It's amazing that Jerry turned out as classy as he did.

The 50 Gut story is Outrageous!! It is incredible to see a "Hog" in the HOF. I would love to see our O-Line unit take the kind of pride in themselves and their performance as their predecessors in the Hogs did.....we shall see

Grimm's speech and Bugel's intro weremoving for us Skins' fans. What Grimm and the rest of the line did against some formdable defenses of the 1980s was impressive.
Grimm's thanking the Skins' fans was a great tip of the hat given our recent years' drama.

It was a little different and not as polished as I would have expected his speech to be, but then again I was not infront of thousands. He is still a classy guy and was an incredible player.
