That guy is a warrior! Damn! WTF! When did we suddenly become CSI:The Warpath? Riggo44 11-19-2004, 03:20 PM When I played ball in high school nobody wore them. I don't know how you can run with that thing Yea no one on my team wore them either.I didn't even like to where the thigh pads. But they made us. I think the only time I would where a cup is if I was a cacther playing base ball. Or maybe a RB,maybe. Riggo44 11-19-2004, 03:22 PM That sound you all heard was my head hitting the keyboard after passing out upon reading about Mr. Livers' um "injury". :laughing2 CSI: The Warpath. I can understand how some people could find it inappropriate from the sexual references (even though I don't agree), or just thought it was dumb, but why bring race into it? Until I read this article, I didn't even think about that. TO is black and NS is white...so what! That has absolutely nothing to do with it. The controversy is about the sexual nature of the skit, not what color their skin is. Jeez!!! Oh, and by the way, think the ratings for "Desperate Housewives" will be up this week??? I wouldn't be surprised if some of the original "complaints" were from ABC/Disney employees, just to get it started... redrock-skins 11-19-2004, 05:18 PM I think that it is fair enough that T.O. apologized "IF it offended anyone". There's no need for wasting taxpayers time and money on an FCC investigation. It was a one-time skit that played up on the polularity of Desperate Housewives. BIGREDSKINFAN63 11-19-2004, 08:52 PM i did'nt see one thing wrong with it.if nicolette were to drop her towel in front of me and jump naked into my arms,i'd put the world second for at least half an hour. BrudLee 11-19-2004, 10:05 PM I wasn't so much offended with the content of the skit, than the fact that it existed in the first place. It's not the job of the NFL to directly promote any shows on any network. Did T.O. get a check for being in a Desperate Housewives commercial? Probably not. Did the Eagles approve of the use of their jerseys in the commercial? Doubt it. Someone from ABC probably said "We'd like TO for the opener", and they said fine. If the exact same commercial was made to promote MNF, I'd think it was hysterical - the NFL isn't their to talk up another product, though. |
