I've heard that he had some sort of credentials to be on the sideline and it's policy for them not to wear other team gear. Not sure if it's true.

Well if that is true, I guess i understand why Ried made it a point to have the guy change, if he was a guest of the Eagles it makes more sense.

BUT to ask someone that is just attending an open training camp practice to remove any jersey or piece of clothing that does not contain anything obviously offensive is absurd. I state this in reference to all 2 teams not just the eagles.

Like last year at Redskins games when the Redskins ban the signs, I found this ridiculous as well.

Free Speech.

Darnerien McCants jerseys? Let's do it!

I remember seeing his autographed shoes for sale on eBay several years ago, for next to no money.

Never saw a jersey though.

Eagles coach Andy Reid noticed something rather distasteful out of the corner of his eye this morning: A Donovan McNabb (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=704) Redskins jersey.

According to Tim McManus of Philadelphia Sports Daily, a fan named Jim Devlin was asked to take the jersey (http://phillysportsdaily.com/eagles/2010/08/11/fan-asked-to-take-off-redskins-mcnabb-jersey/) off by security. He did so quickly, and the security guard reportedly cited Reid as the reason he had to remove it. Devlin wasn't kicked out practice.

The fan also wore the jersey to a Phillies game the other night to "make a statement" about the Eagles trade and get a reaction from people.

So yeah, Devlin is about as big a jackass as you'd expect.

Sounds like Reid is the jackass to me.

How funny would it be if about 20 people showed up to their practices with #5 Redskins jerseys. lol.

I guess they would have to show up with Eagles jerseys first then reveal the Redskins jersey underneith since I'm sure the security gustapo would not let them at the facility otherwise. lol.

When I saw the pictures i was wondering why the guy seemed to be on the field.

Like tryful posted, i think i read a comment to the PFT article that he had media credential access or to the VIP area where they "supposedly" have a rule of no other team jerseys.

i dont see the big deal. perhaps reid made it somewhat newsworthy as a fleeting blip but my sense of 1st amendment isnt offended if this guys isnt.

im actually glad this huy didnt try to make it inot some huge protest, 1st amendment im allowed to wear whatever non-offensive clothing i want. theres too much of that going on now a days, people having their feelings hurt thinking it equals a lawsuit and payday.

That's in the article about the guy with the jersey??

Anyhow, reports from the last few days almost all say that McNabb has had a strong week at camp...and that he's never been a total stud during training camp in his career
