I'll go out on a limb and guess that the trafic is moving but very slow and has been that way for 9 days. Its not like someone left for work 9 days ago and is still trying to get to the office.

idk about that. i heard on news radio that they are moving at 1/3 a mile per DAY!

that officials are trying to get food, water and security there and that the village people are selling food, etcon side of road.

i think people have been stuck in their vehicles this whole time.

This renews my faith in the commie system of government being unable to adopt to the needs of its people, traffic jams indeed.:laughing-

Yup, that's China for you. Awful traffic, awful roads, air that shouldn't be breathed, little concern for genuine law. The food is great, the economy is improving, but otherwise the place is a mess.

Just read at lunch that people have actually been stuck in trafic for days now. It said that in one area that the trafic only moved 1 mile in 24 hours.

Just like when I-95 slows down then speeds back up for no reason on my drive home everyday the epic traffic jam in China has eased up: China's epic traffic jam 'vanished' - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100825/od_afp/chinaroadtrafficoffbeat)

It was probably all caused by one old lady driving 20mph below the speed limit with her blinker on. She FINALLY got to her exit.
