Ace I agree with your post. DMac is going to be fine and we will see him improve through out the season. He will have a bad game or two, but he will have some great ones as well.
I am very interested to see us get the running game going and how that will affect Donovans game. I do not believe he has ever had a good ground game around him, and my hope is that the running game leads the offense and allows Donovan to use alot of playaction and roll outs.

Why would it be a good thing? You could look at it from both angles. Yeah, better he gets injured now than in the regular season is your line of thought. Thing is if he got hurt in a preseason game, what makes you think he won't get hurt often in the regular season, when the games count for something?
Yeah what i wrote made it sound like its a overall positive, which i definitely dont really think. Id rather him be in there to play because he and the receivers definitely need it. I guess what i mean is that there are some positives to it. Im hoping McNabb makes it through the season i just think odds are against it, so Grossman getting some reps now could be positive.
Also i didnt realize Shanahan doesnt normally play his starting QB in the last preseason game. So i guess Rex would have gotten additional work anyways, but if McNabb isnt able to make it through a season the more reps the better.

Everyone and their mom knows Rex Ryan can't help himself and thus will call blitzes often.

Another thing I would like to add....
maybe with Rex in the game,we can see a little more running the ball. I understand we need to see what our passing game can do,but if you asked me what I'm more concerned about right now? I would tell you the running game and run blocking in addition.
We weren't bad against the bills and I understand the Ravens being great against the run. But I want to see more explosion off the ball in our running game.
I kNow fast willie is starting, but I hope to see more of LJ too this game. Yea,our 3rd and short has been terrible thus far...
Then again, our 3rd and long has been crazy good...
Things are weird right now,but I love it! lol
I'm hoping to see some better running against the Jets, though they are as good as the Ravens as well at stopping the run.

Looking at the schedule there are 8 games, I count, where the O-line must do a great job at picking up the Blitz packages of the other team going by what Ive seen this preseason. Is the O-line up to that or will McNabb be toast those 8 games? Cause you know if Rex shows the Blitz is effective then everyone will hop on that wagon.
If the Ravens were effective then the Jets might be also. The saving grace is that the Jets offense ain't all that great.

DM isnt playing again until week 1 according to today's Wash Post.
Regardless of the ankle McNabb probably wouldn't be playing in the last preseason game anyway. Shanahan doesn't like to play his starting QB in the last game.

Good deal! Yes!
McNabb can spend the next 20+ days going over the Cowboys defensive schemes and what has worked on them in the past and what they can game plan for Sunday Night...
rather than putting more unnecessary pressure on that sore ankle and limping out on the field Sunday Night.
Awesome!

True but he was supposed to play 3 quarters this week. I'm not sure how an offense with a QB that has WRs he's not used to, in a new system, will fare with rythm, timing and being in sync. Its going to be interesting to see how well maybe 3 quarters of live action together prepared them for week 1 vs Dallas.
